Well it wasn't bad. It wasn't good. So what was it? It was OK. what was OK? Her day. Just like every single other day. Kiala just walked to class normally but today, her pace was quicker. Quicker than any day, really. She wasn't in a hurry, though. Her pace was always quick so it would seem she was in ah hurry and there was no time to talk. But still, if someone could just talk to me, or say hi, she thought to herself. Normally, one would think that she can start a conversation herself. That's not the case here. She just thought it would be "out of her element" so walk up to someone and say ,"Hey, how are you doing?" Well you know what they say: easier said than done. And maybe that was the case here. Or maybe it's not. No one knows.
Thoughts buzzed into Kiala's mind like a bunch of hound dogs rushing to get the very last piece of juicy stake that was hidden somewhere in her mind. Annoying much? Kiala slowed her pace down and took deep breaths to clam herself down. The dogs were still looking. She looked at her cell phone clock. A few more minutes until class started. She set her back pack down to take out a Tick-tack. She liked them becuase they always calmed her down. She popped the little, white mint into her mouth before closing her backpack. When she picked it up, she heard a sound. CLANK. Below her, she saw her little box of erasers. "I can always get new ones. Those are old anyways," she said leaving them on the floor like that. Yeah..I'll just get new ones. Not a big deal, she said to herself in her head as she sucked on the mint. The dogs began to quite down.

It would be good for the freshmen to leave her element. Widening her comfort zone would only help her grow and develop. Amelia was the type to go up and speak to random people, of course at this school it wasn’t always that simple. Being mute has many disadvantages. Her pervious school had was made of a deaf or hearing impaired student body. Every student and teacher was able to sign, making things much easier for Amelia. Here she had to carry around a notebook and write her every thought down in order to have a simple conversation.
Amelia was running late, a bad habit that was growing more frequent with the teen. History had ended early so she had made the trek back to her dorm to pick up her art history book for her Landscape class, on the off chance they had book work. The trip had made her late. Along with her art book she had her sketch pad, a notebook, her ‘speaker’ (her other notebook she used to talk) and of course a pencil case. Her brown hair was tied in a pony tail, a bright green pen could be seen sticking out of the top of her pony tail. She fumbled with her phone to check the time resulting in all of her books tumbling to the ground. Annoyed at herself, but now resigned to the fact she would be late, she stooped down and gathered them up. It was then she noticed a small, unfamiliar plastic box on the ground. Standing up the sophomore shoved her books under her left arm and opened it curiously. Just a few erasers. Her brown eyes scanned the walks to see who might have dropped them, most likely a student. No more then twelve feet away she spotted another student. The sophomore jogged to catch up with girl in front and tapped her gently on the shoulder.

Just get to class. That was Kiala's motive for now. Get the erasers later. Just get to class. Get the erasers later. The two phrases were stuck like super glue in her mind. No one could interrupt that train of thought. Well, no one would anyway. No one talked to Kiala much. It was like she was invisible. Invisible to the student body. Could that ever change? Probably not. It was near her class until it was broken. What was broken? The little confined space around Kiala. Yeah, that's what we like to call solitude. But not only that, the two phrases in her head had come to stop. They were replaced by,"Who was that?" Someone had tapped Kiala's shoulder. It was gentle and Kiala felt that her fragile, little wall was broken at last. She didn't know how to handle it. Finally, she had to gather up her courage. She turned to face who dared to interrupt her. A girl. She looked slightly older and her hair color was about the same. She could see that in her hand, she held Kiala's little box of erasers. Kiala presumed that she wished the give it back. Then Kiala remembered her two phrases. It would be weird if she said thanks and took it happily. Even if that was what she wished to do. Well, I guess I better say something, she thought. "Um..thanks. But why would you spend your precious time on picking up something as useless as this? Wow, it seems some people have too much time on tier hands nowadays." she said. She waited for a rude reply, but she didn't care. She wanted to keep her solitude and the only way to do that was to have people not come near her at all. That was the only way.

Now that she was close Amelia realized she was just a hair taller then the stranger. She found herself contemplating tapping her again the girl took so long to turn around she was afraid she had noticed the first tap. Eventually she did and her expression was almost one of a pain. The sophomore raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Why? Because it was the right thing to do, because she assumed whoever dropped it would need it. It was this girl’s box, she appeared to have recognize it. Sighing she pushed the box into the other girl’s hand and pulled her notebook from under her arm and pen from her hair to write. In bright purple ink she wrote, I assumed you might need it. As an art major Amelia knew how important your tools where, if this was an art major why wouldn’t she want or need erasers. Although she had said thank you she didn’t seem grateful besides Amelia didn’t have time for this, she was already late.
Once she was done writing she turned the notebook around and held it out for the girl to read. Normally she would also introduce herself and she would probably be more pleasant, but she was running late and the younger girl was rubbing her the wrong way. People have too much time on their hands? It’s called common courtesy or maybe that was something lacking in today’s society. Or perhaps she was just snooty, Mommy and Daddy buy whatever she wants for her and she can replace anything on the drop of a dime. Amelia shook her head, there was no need to judge her after she just met her. Perhaps she was having a bad day. Still what an attitude, she could have just said thank you and gone on her way without implying that Amelia had nothing better to do with her life then search for lost objects.

Something struck Kiala as odd. Was it becuase the girl wanted to give er erasers back to her? Or was it that she was mute? Kiala stared at the notebook for a while. Then she looked at her watch. She needed to bust it or she would be in trouble. Kiala took a deep breath. The girl had provided her with a pen and a notebook to write on. She had wrote something. So she only thought Kiala would need it. Kiala looked a bit bewildered. Well she's waiting for a reply, smart one! she thought to herself. I really not to stop talking to myself in my head, she thought again. Whatever, just reply! Kiala took the pen quickly and scribbled something, though it was still legible. Oh, ok. It's late so meet me at lunch to give it to me. Gotta scram! she wrote. Kial then gave the pen back and turned around. That was torture, she thought to herself. Kiala started to run toward her classroom. Gotta move, gotta run! she thought to herself. Kiala then thought about a few things in her mind? Why did she say to give it to her at lunch when she could have just taken it? Kiala had given it back to her back there. It takes just as much time to ask for a lunch meeting and just getting the little box of erasers and go. Kiala shook her head. Why in the world did I do that?
Maybe she herself didn't do it. Maybe the Kiala who wanted a friend did it. Kiala couldn't really comprehend it much. By the time she got to class room, she could not longer think straight. Her mind was a complete jumble of mixed feelings. But why?

Amelia had offered her the notepad so she could read it, she didn’t expect the younger girl to actually write on it. It was fine, although Amelia preferred it when people spoke out loud, writing took too long. The sophomore could only stare in open mouthed surprise as the strange girl shoved her belongs back into her arms and took off running. She didn’t even take the stupid erasers! Shaking her head in disbelief she looked down at the note. Meet her for lunch? She didn’t even know the girl’s name or where to meet her and what was the point? It would have made much more sense if the odd ball had just taken the box and went on her way. With a sigh Amelia shoved the box in her pocket, her pencil back into her pony tail and started walking slowly to class. It was pointless to rush when she was already late. Hopefully her teacher wouldn’t be too upset. Her landscape teacher was usually pretty cool and relaxed.
***LUNCH!*** Amelia decided to wait outside the dinning hall for her mystery girl to appear. She assumed the other student would be dinning on campus, only seniors normally ate off campus anyway. For connivance’s sake Amelia had brought only a small notebook to write in, her pen, and the box of erasers. The sophomore was seated on top of a large boulder, probably off limits, in the small garden next to the main entrance. It would be nearly impossible for anyone to miss her here. Although she couldn’t hear her stomach’s complaints, she was sure it was growling loudly enough for passer bys to hear. Skipping breakfast and being late to lunch didn’t sit well with her appetite.
OCC: I hope u don’t mind. I thought it would make more sense to just keep going here rather then make a new thread.

OOC: It's ok ^^ Sorry if my post is a little short >_> IC: Nothing felt right. The atmosphere didn't feel right. Kiala's mind didn't feel right. Class was so confusing that day. Yup, NOTHING felt right. Kiala sighed walking into the lunchroom looking for the girl. She didn't even giver her name..well Kiala didn't give hers. She tried to walk briskly, but she couldn't. Everything was in a big haze. Kiala entered the small garden with a small lunch. She felt it was going to be the worst time of her life. Well, she only accomplished one thing: she broke her solitude record. Yup. Kiala finally spotted the girl perched on a large boulder. Kiala bit her lip before strutting as much confidence as possible over to her. She took a deep breath before saying anything.
"Look, sorry about earlier. I should have taken the erasers earlier..", she said in one breath. She said it with no excitement and without smiling. Then she remembered the note book. Was she supposed to use the notebook? That's what the girl had her do earlier. Kiala had a small suspicion about it. Kiala suspected she was a mute or something like that. Anyway, Kiala waited for the girl to hand her the notebook so she could repeat her message. Kiala wished she would give it soon becuase she really wasn't the type who minded waiting. ((Sorry it's pretty short..my muse has gone down lately ))
