Amelia rolled her eyes as her English teacher rambled on about Shakespeare. Sure some of his plays made the greatest Ballet's of all time...but reading the plays themselves...gosh she had a hard time with that. Flipping through the softcover bound book of 'Romeo and Juliet', she sighed as she listened at the back of the classroom.
They were assigned the next 3 acts to finish by the end of the period. 'Great...exactly what I want...' she thought to herself. Opening the small book, she leaned her cheek against her hand and read over the first page...already bored. If it was a Ballet...she would have gotten through it much faster. Maybe that's why she had a hard time with her core classes. She just couldn't find a way to get through class without her mind wandering to dance. But not everything was easy. Perhaps if math and English were somehow a dance, she would be ok.
Closing her eyes, she shook her head and then went back to ''reading''. After ten minutes she laughed softly to herself. She had only read 4 pages....this was pathetic. She closed the book and looked up at the clock. There was only 4 minutes left of class. She might as well spend them wisely.
Standing up, she walked to the front of the class and stood at the front of her teachers desk. Coughing quietly to let her be noticed by him, she smiled sweetly. "Can I go to the bathroom?" She asked. Considering she had only a few minutes, the man let her go and she took her stuff with her.
The second she was out of the room, she walked in the opposite direction of the bathrooms and instead towards the courtyard enveloped by glass windows inside the building itself. Finding it easily, she kept her eyes on the floor instead of in front of her.
Stupid of her.
She wasn't paying any attention to where she was walking and ended up bumping into someone. Her copy of 'Romeo and Juliet' slid across the floor and stopped at someone's feet...The person's who she bumped into. She looked up and noticed that it was a kid in her grade. Someone she hadn't ever met before. "Sorry about that."

The day was so painfully slow... The sun was starting to shine more outside with the promise of spring coming closer... he could almost hear the whisper of the breeze in his ears he was so anxious, itching in his skin, to get outside and soak up the sun... Well he'd always been the beach comber, the last one to go in, and still not have a sunburn. Things changed now that he didn't have a vacation south again... He looked up as the test papers for chemistry were handed out... Okay, so he could totally live with an 87 for a test grade... Better then the kid next to him...
For Alex, Failure wasn't an option...
He stared at the window for a moment longer, until he realized he did have a chance at escape... Blinking, he raised his hand.. "Uh.. Can I go to the office?" He knew they'd probably check to see if he'd gone to the office later, but he'd say he had to pee on the way, and then the bell rang... It was just minutes away... As soon as he rounded that corner, it would be a beeline to the courtyard, to soak up some sun... When he was allowed to go, he dove for the door, but in a composed way to make it seem like he was lazy... and then he lit the hall up with his speed as he flew to the courtyard, dying to get some of those rays...
Unfortunately, another obstacle..
"OOMPH!" he managed, a rather soft object colliding to his muscled abdomen.. He blinked down at the romeo and juliet booklet, and reached for it, lifting it slowly as he moved up, to hold it loosely in his hand.. When his eyes reached her face, he couldn't stop his grin from spreading.. "I guess it's okay.. here's your book, Miss Juliet..." He smiled brighter at those words, and then hooked his thumbs in his pockets.. "I think we were going the same way... Courtyard? It's a nice day..." he whispered, looking over his shoulder.. "We better move..." he added, hearing the bell go off around them.. Reaching for her hand, he grinned and pulled her with him, handing her the book back... Moving to pull her behind him, he headed for the courtyard..

Amelia blushed but quickly tried to hide it. She took her book back and slipped it into her bag. But when he mentioned the courtyard, she looked up at him and nodded her head. As he took her hand, her eyes glowed. He didn't even know who she was and he was grabbing for her hand already. However, she went with it. It was the only way she was getting to the courtyard without being trampled. And if it meant going with a supercute guy, then she was fine with that.
When they reached the courtyard, Amelia dropped her bag by the stone bench. As she did so, she took notice to the fact that he was still grasping her hand. Her eyes trailed up his muscled arm and then to his face. "I'm Amelia...by the way." She said giving him a small smile. She wasn't one to usually put herself out there to guys. If she was dancing...well than all her boundaries broke loose. She didn't care who she was dancing with, as long as she was dancing.
But outside of her little dancer world...boys were the real deal. She couldn't just expect dance to save her anymore. And she knew that this kid wasn't a dance major. 1. He wasn't in any of her classes and had never shared a recital with her. and 2. He had way to big of feet to be a dancer.
Almost expertly, she slipped her hand from his and sat down on the cold bench. It wasn't that she wanted to let go...she just wanted to sit. Besides...she didn't want him to think she was clingy...they had only just met! Slipping off her sweater, she pushed it lazily into her shoulder bag and then once again dropped the bag onto the floor carelessly. "Were you ditching early too I suppose?" She asked with a smirk. Great minds did think alike after all...and if he was smart enough to recognize Romeo and Juliet...than he was definitely someone she should be talking too...

Alex watched her let go of his hand, his face slightly shifting to a lesser smile... and he really couldn't find a reason why... in the short time he thought about it... Then she was asking him things... "Uh.. yeah.. I hate Chemistry.. he was fixing to start lecturing about the questions we missed on the test... gahhhh.." he shook his head, reaching for the folded paper he had shoved in his back pocket during his escape..
"I guess an 87 is better than nothing..." he added, smirking..
He looked her over.. Agiliy built.. tiny.. but strong.. Dancer. He knew it by the light in her eyes... a lot of kids around here had that look in their eyes... but a lot of them around here were dancers.. What was left were a few actors, and a few handfuls of musicians... He was just a little mix of everything he guessed.. Well he wasn't really good at any dance, but he could do a waltz if he had to.. He smiled, and lowered himself to sit on the bench next to her, his ears pricking at the lowered hum in the halls around them...
The bell rang next, and he knew he was home free.. "What about you?" he asked, blinking his deep chocolate eyes slowly. He adjusted the sleeves of his polo, crisp and startelingly white against his skin, and leaned back against the hard top of the table behind them.. Yawning, he soaked up the sun for a minute, and then tossed a look around the courtyard.. "I like that name... it's good.. it fits you.." he added, smiling down at her.. "I'm Alex... Nice to meet you Amy..."

Amelia laughed. "Chemistry?" She smiled. "I can help you sometime if you want." She looked towards him. "Science is kind of my strong point....even though it has absolutely nothing to do with dance." She laughed softly again. "But English..well that's my downfall. He just assigned us Romeo and Juliet...I don't get it at all." She sighed and shook her head. "You wouldn't happen to be any good at it would you?" She asked smiling.
Her eyes wandered too his arms as he pushed his sleeves up. She quickly looked away and blushed gently. As he complimented her name, and her? her cheeks blushed even more. "Thanks..." She smiled. "It was my grandmother's name." 'Why did you say that Amelia? He clearly doesn't need to know that...' She scolded herself.
Amelia turned to face him. "I was just wondering...what's your major?" She asked. "I've never seen you around before...so I know you can't be a dance major." She said smiling. "Unless I'm completely crazy and just overlooked you on the dance floor." She laughed. "But I find that highly unlikely." She blushed. She would remember ever seeing him, had she run into him before today.
She was starting to feel more comfortable around him now. OK so maybe grabbing her hand within the first second of meeting her was a GREAT icebreaker on his part...but besides that...he was a real sweet guy. She was definitely going to take the time to get to know him alot better. You could bet on that fact. He was someone she could see herself hanging out with after today...

Alex blinked.. "Major.. Oh.. I uh.. I'm into acting.. and a little art I guess..." he raised his eyebrows, remembering her Romeo and Juliet.. "Actually, I'm into that kinda stuff... so.. I mean, I can help you with that..." he grinned a charming, white smile, and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. He laughed softly, and nodded.. "So yeah.. if you need help with that, I can help... And as for dancing... well I mean.. I can slow dance.. and I can do the soulja boy... but nothing too drasticly hard... I kinda have athlete in me.. not dancer.. not that they aren't athletes.. i just.. different kinda.. athlete.."
He shrugged, and sighed, looking back up at the sun...
"I bet your grandmother would be proud to know your parent's kept your name... or.. is she still alive? I'm sure she's proud either way..." he laughed softly, though nervousness was clear on the tone, and then stood up, shifting slowly on his feet, towards the fountain.. With a straight jump from a stand still, he balanced himself on the edge of the fountain, and smiled... "What light from yonder window breaks?" he laughed afterwards, and leaned forward.. "My favorite... 'Should I speak at this, or listen further?'..."

Amelia smiled. "Dancing...I don't need the help that much." She laughed. "We'll just stick to the English." When he jumped up onto the fountain, her heart jumped with fear. He could fall at any moment. But looking at his physique, he seemed to be able to take care of himself.
As he began to recite Shakespeare, she smiled. "Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo. Deny thy father and refuse thy name." She laughed. "That's about all I can ever grasp from it." She shrugged. But she figured that if he played her Romeo, she'd rememeber alot more.
"You know I haven't ever been this relaxed at school." she giggled. "You're taking my mind off of alot of things..." She pulled her legs up into a criss cross and rested her elbow on her knee and her cheek on her palm.
Suddenly without even realizing it, her eyes trailed up from where he was on the fountain. It followed the muscular contour of his body and the toned mold of his stomach. Biting her lip, her eyes finally found his face. The rust colored skin only made his brown eyes pop out even more.
'STOP IT AMELIA! He'll notice!' she screamed at herself. The last thing she needed was him thinking she was a complete freak for looking at him that way. But gosh it was hard...he was afterall something to look at. There wasn't much of guy selection at the Academy. It was nice to have a change of choice...plus he was actually a decent guy.

He stared at her, following her lips as she spoke the line from the play, and laughed.. Hopping down from the fountain after she'd blessed him with a longing look... one he let his cheeks blush at, he walked towards her, and smiled.. "So... you need someone to practise with.. I mean.. I'm insane at acting.. that's why I'm really here... but.. If you need help with any aspect of the play... I'm here.. for you.." he stopped in front of her, and held out his hand, laughing.. "But.. how about we get outta here.. go get a shake or something?" he asked, raising a brow..
Well it was better then sitting here..
"And.. it's a nice day.. I'm glad you're thinking about something other than school right now, or I'd be failing my job at being my charming self..." Since he'd stepped out of his shell this year, he'd been more at ease to show it off. He smiled at her, allowing one of his chocolate eyes to close in a wink, and then waited for her to decide whether she wanted to go with him or not...

Amelia nodded. "Practice..yeah." She laughed. She would have absolutely no problem practicing with him. She may not have read the play..but she knew what happened. The two star struck lovers fell in love...kissed. Yeah...practicing..that'd be nice.
Suddenly taken from her thoughts, she saw his hand outstretched to her. She bit her lip and smiled at his suggestion. "Yeah...anywheres better than here." She slipped her small hand into his. His charming self. Yes he certainly was a charmer. He knew how to get right into her head...and she really didn't mind it one bit.
And then it hit her. They were holding hands again. This was totally not normal for her. She was usually shy around any guy particularly one that was attractive. This was totally unexpected out of her. She was shocked herself. Had any of her friends seen her right now, they would assume that she was completely mental.
Reaching down, she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She took a deep breath. 'No big deal Amy....it's just a guy....a gorgeous guy. Whose holding your hand. And willing to practice the world's oldest know Love Story. Totally fine with it' She tried to ease her stomach from doing back flips. Everything was fine.

He'd gotten pretty good at this in the last few weeks, with his sudden flighty attitude in class. Okay, so maybe it was an early case of senioritis, though he didn't think you got that until like, a week before you start your senior year... Maybe there was such a thing as Junioritis? He tossed a quick look around the courtyard, making sure they were remaining unnoticeed... It would kind of ruin their escape plans if they were spotted.
Ducking behind the shrubbery as they fled the courtyard, he kicked open the gate, pulling her behind him, and slipped around the corner as the final students slipped into class... he grinned when they were free, and headed for his bike... "Hope you're not afraid of riding a harley..." He smiled over his shoulder, sliding to a stop next to it, the gravel catching his DC's. He adjusted his t-shirt, which had been a little shifted up for his running with her, and then gave her a sideways glance, reaching for the other helmet..
"Or.. hat hair..." he added, laughing..

Amelia let him basically drag her from the courtyard. She laughed as he hid behind the bush. It was so James Bondesque. When they got to the parking lot, she saw the Harley and a smile lit up her face. She bit her lip and shook her head. "I've always wanted to ride one..." She said taking the helmet. "But I never got the chance."
Pulling her hair into a ponytail, she put the helmet on and looked up at him. It was a little big, but hey she was going to ride a Harley. She was a bit excited. Amy zipped up her hoodie to block the chill. "Ready when you are." She said smiling. Her bdoy was tingling with excitement. She was riding a Harley....with a cute guy. It was sort of a big deal for her.
Amelia wasn't one to normally take risks. Sure as a dancer, people expected one to take risks with the pointe shoes and extreme dances and what not. But that wasn't what Amelia was like. Those kind of things came easy to her. Riding a Harley with a guy she just met....now that was WAY out of her league. However...Amelia did believe in taking chances...yes there's a difference. She knew that there was a chance that her insides wouldn't scream like no tomorrow when she got on the back of that thing. There was a chance that while holding onto Alex's waist, she would feel closer to him and blush like crazy. And there was a chance that by the time they said goodbye to eachother, Amelia would be crushing on him like no tomorrow.
Deep in her heart, she knew that two of those three chances were more than likely to be true...And very soon to be accurate. It was unusual for her..but maybe this new friendship would bring out the best in her.

Grabbing his helmet, he slipped his leather jacket on and made sure it was secure. Tossing her a grin, before he put his helmet on, he threw his leg over the bike, and scooted as far forward as he could go so she could climb on.. she was so small, he'd be surprised if her legs could reach the ground. He relaxed, and pulled the helmet over his head.. Just a week ago, he was doing the same thing with Arizona.. God.. he missed her. He needed to talk to her about their idea again. He waited patiently for her to hop onto his bike behind him...
When he felt her get on, he took a few steps back, and relaxed into his seat, making sure his helmet was secure. "Watch your feet..." he began, raising his leg to kick start his bike.. With one good thrust, he had it rumbling beneath him.. Lots of easy girls he'd ridden with got a kick out of the vibration between their legs.. not to mention they got some sort of thrill from holding onto him.. he still didn't get why. "Kay.. don't be afraid to hang onto me..." he yelled over the engine, turning the wheel in the front towards the road they'd be taking. He gripped the bars carefully, and gave her a look, making sure she was on...
When she was good, he leaned forward, pushing the bike a little more towards the road... When he had a little momentum going, he put his feet up on the spot they were supposed to be, and gave the engine a good push, letting it roar for a moment. When she was securely holding onto him, he started the motion, moving the bike towards the road slowly, picking up speed.. "Hang on..." he added, and with a flash, had gunned it and taken off...

Amelia smiled back at him and took a deep breath before climbing onto the Harley. Wrapping her petite arms around his muscular waist, she rested her cheek against his back and lifted her feet. Though they weren't touching the ground anyway. As he revved the engine and went faster, she let out a soft scream and laughed. "Oh my goodness..." She smiled. "I could get used to this." She said raising her voice to be heard over the engine.
The feeling of the wind speeding past her was exhilerating. She had never felt anything like it. It was almost like she was flying....as corny as that sounded. She laughed softly to herself. She hadn't even noticed that she had closed her eyes. It must have been the shock from when he first starting speeding from the school. Opening her eyes slowly, a smile found her features. The world was speeding by her in a blur of colors. It was almost as if someone had thrown a bucket of water over the world. It was absolutely beautiful.
And that's when it hit her. She was skipping school!. This was so unlike her! But she was enjoying it. Maybe it was fate that she met Alex. He brought out her wild side. Amelia's mom always told her to find a friend who showed you a different side of yourself. Well Alex had to be that friend. It had only been an hour or so and yet she knew that he was going to be the one to let her let go and just be herself.
A great day was ahead of her. Just thinking that she had finally made a new friend in the big school. And it was out of her major! Someone who wasn't like her. And Alex definitely was nto like her. But that only made it more fun. She could see the world differently with a friend like him.

The world flashed by in a blur of mixed colors, quickly at that... He slowed down as they reached the park, where of course there would be a shopping square, and then found a parking place where he didn't have to put quarters in a slot... He took his helmet off, ruffling his messy hair just a little, though made no difference in it's usual appearance.. He killed the engine, and the sudden rush of silence felt strange...
He missed the rumble suddenly...
Jerking back to reality when he realized she was still hanging onto him, he looked over his shoulder and gave a soft chuckle.. "It's okay.. we're safe...." Reaching for her hands, he pried them off, and then stood up, giving her a source to help herself hop off. Pocketing his keys, he made sure his wallet and cell phone were present as well, and then hopped off after her, looking around..
"So.. you need to get any new shoes? Clothes.. I'm a great person to give opinions on fashion.. and I'm not even gay! Think of that..." He laughed jokingly, and waited for her to decide...

Amelia laughed softly as he shut off the engine. "That was wicked awesome!" She said hopping off the bike. Taking a deep breath, she took the helmet off. She put it back on the bike and fixed her shirt a bit as it had gotten a bit tosseled while they were riding. Her heart was still racing. It was very exilerating and she had a feeling that she'd be talking to her father about thinking of getting a bike very soon. She could get used to it.
At his question, she looked up at him while pulling her hair out of its' ponytail. She laughed softly. "Well I was thinking of getting a dress for this party thing my family is having." She smirked. Hey he offered, she was going to take up on it. "But you really don't have to" She said with a light laugh.
This was fun. It wasn't often that she had fun with a guy that wasn't somehow related to a relationship. It was nice having a guyfriend rather than a boyfriend. OK sure, he was wicked attractive and a total sweetie. But that didn't mean she had to like him. She could just hang out with him like anyone else did with their friends.
Then she thought for a moment. "But you know what...I might need your help...I'm horribly awful at chosing what color looks good on me." She laughed and looked away. Shaking her head she looked up at him. She was so glad she skipped school. This was so much better than Pre-Cal.
The day was going to be great. She could go home knowing now that she had someone who she could talk to about anything. It was perfect..
