Okay... so he really didn't know that much about Mr. Hernandez, but he seemed like a great guy... He was a little closer to Alex since they came from mostly the same origin, and were both into sports... Of course it kinda threw Hernandez for a loop when he discovered Alex had a thing for acting as well... He stole him from practise the other day, helping with the junior sports until they got another coach in the position, and started yammering about a girl he knew who may like him... Alex liked the idea, until he'd mentioned a blind date... So.. the girl didn't know it would be him?
Oh boy... that meant he had to be on his best behavior..
He paused for a moment outside her dorm, thinking himself over... He didn't really talk to many girls here... and.. Dammit... he felt like an idiot.. Staring down at himself, he sighed.. Black vneck tshirt, tight fitting which was actually flattering to Alex, and dark washed jeans... He had on his DC shoes, black and white with a little red mixed in.. he loved his shoes.. Something about them was just great to Alex... he had to have shoes... He made sure he looked appropriate, such as his pants weren't falling down, no scuffs or grass stains on his new kicks, or his shirt wasn't showing his boxer waistline.. He smiled when he approved himself in appearance, and then looked up at the number on the door...
The softtone brass numbers seemed to scream out at him to turn and run... Why did he listen to Eric? Oh... yeah.. because he was an adult.. and truthfully, he was a little lonely.. He kind of wanted to spend time with someone his own age.. Well someone of the opposite sex that was near his age... He wasn't that flattered that most of the freshman had a thing for him.. When he was younger, it probably wouldn't have bothered him as much.. In fact, most new girls here thought he was a senior.. by his looks, most would agree... but he was actually a junior.. He sighed softly, sinking his hands into his hair to fluff it.. His leather jacket stretched silently with barely any noise as he did so, and he made sure it was perfection before he stopped... He did a quick glance into his phone screen to make sure he was looking sharp, and then checked his breath..
Stopping for some icebreakers gum, he sighed..
Here goes nothing.. he thought to himself, and let his fist knock on the door gently... He was sure Eric had told her to expect a date tonight.. and to dress up. She'd probably be disappointed by Eric's selection though... Alex didn't really think of himself as anything spectacular... actually, he believed himself quite plain... He only hoped he could show the poor girl a good time tonight.. she'd probably think he was a dork.. at the least, be disgusted by him... All he could do now was try.. Or he could run.. NO! He would go through with this.. he had to.. he promised.. and no matter how much he was freaking out, he had to keep his promise..
He fell silent, his heart slamming against his chest as the doorknob twisted.. "Oh dear god.." he whimpered, flenching.. She'd probably tell him to go to hell, and slam the door in his face.. That would be fine.. Had he ever been on a blind date.. oh god.. he didn't even know what to expect.. what did she look like? Well when she finally appeared in the doorway, he stared at her breathless, and offered a charming grin, crooked as always, and gave a soft chuckle.. "Uhh.. hello.. I'm uh.. Alex.. I can understand if you want me to leave... but uh.. I kinda promised I'd try... he'll make me run laps.. I.. oh forget it.. You can tell me to shut up at any minute now.." he added, laughing..

so, arizona had the stereo cranked up pretty loud and her guitar in her hand, playing along to the song, the night was pretty typical for `zona, if she could say so for herself. sorrow by flyleaf, it was her theme song at times, but, it had an easy guitar part that she could play in her sleep. holding the guitar with one hand by the fret board, the shoulder strap digging into her shoulder, she looked around her dorm room, pictures of her family, or at least of her two siblings and then sky and tuna. she loved this room, she just felt comfortable in it. but, the oddities were the random drum sticks laying around, or the one that was sticking out of the wall by the door, one of sky's latest inventions, and the occasional shirt or sock laying around the floor.
flipping the song to the next one on her ipod that was hooked up to the speakers, she grinned as her real theme song came on, headstrong, trapt. gah, she loved the guitar part to this song, and it wasn't that hard. but, as she was going through the arpegio that was a bit softer, she heard something, a knock? glancing down at her watch, she slung the guitar around so that the neck was going down her leg behind her and headed towards the door. yanking the knife stick out of the wall, just in case it was a teacher, she pulled open the door, a raised brow when she saw that it was another student. twirling the knife stick between her fingers, she leaned against the door frame, eyeing him curiously. Uhh.. hello.. I'm uh.. Alex.. I can understand if you want me to leave... but uh.. I kinda promised I'd try... he'll make me run laps.. I.. oh forget it.. You can tell me to shut up at any minute now..
she'd answered the door to stranger things, but, this was definitely one of the top. nah, go on, maybe you'll start making sense. it was kind of an interesting sight, the guy, alex?, looked almost dressed up, and he was going on and on, and even `zona was confused. th'names arizona, alex was it? now she was going back over his random words in her head and a few started jumping out at her. promised i'd try? he'll make me run laps? wh- eric. . . he was the only one who could force someone to run laps. sighing, she ran her hand through her hair, she eyed the guy, he didn't look half bad, and she felt kind of odd standing there twirling a knife-stick in her hand with music blasting out behind her while this guy had come looking for her specifically. indicating for him to hold on for a moment, she walked back into her room, leaving the door open, what did she care, right? slipping the guitar off her back, she set it on it's stand and then walked over to the sound system and hit the pause button on her ipod, plunging the room into a strange silence. truly, she almost always had music playing in here. she needed it more than just about anything. setting the drumstick down on her bed, she hit the button that retracted the long blade back into the shaft of the drumstick and then turned back to alex. crossing her arms over her chest, she was very close to getting defensive, if eric had sent him. . . gah. raising an eyebrow, she looked at him, her stance appearing relaxed, she sighed. she'd let the guy explain what he was doing here, and then she'd judge his character. Dear jesus... was that a knife? In the drumstick? He stared at it as it twirled in her fingers, fear gripping his intestines for a moment, and then straightened himself out.. So she wasn't that scary in look, but something in her eyes when she seemed to catch on to who he was talking about gave him a thrill of fear he worried about.. She had to really hate Mr. Hernandez... He sighed.. "Well.. I.. he gave me this.. to give to you.. I haven't read it... I promise.." He removed it from his wallet, the rough torn edges proving his promise was still kept in tact, and handed it to her.. "He said it would explain.. probably better than I could.."
He fell silent as he waited for her to read it..
[/ul] Alex remained quite, rocking on the balls of his feet for a moment in his reverie, looking at her room behind her... The silence coming from it was nearly unnerving.. but it didn't really bother him. He smiled softly to himself, thinking it was truly a girls room.... but it was slightly lulling him, unbeknownst to her, he was sure... The scent coming from it... it was... tantalizing.. he smiled at his own demenour, and then tore his eyes from the darkness behind her, to her face carefully reading it, and blinked.. "I uh.. I guess I should.. go back to my room..." He turned carefully, planning to slip away... Something here told him not to go though, so he took three slow steps, though covered a bit more distance then he'd have liked, and then turned to face her, his eyes on her face. He steadied himself, pondering whether he should continue with his departure, or whether he should remain and wait for her answer... what did she have against Mr. Hernandez? He seemed like a good guy to Alex... He bit his lip thoughtfully for a second, and then walked back towards her.. "Unless maybe... I can change your mind.. and take you out to eat somewhere.. I don't really care where we go... if we go anywhere.. we don't even have to go anywhere.. though out of respect I would perfer if we stayed out of your room..." God.. he was rambling.. He did that when he was nervous.. Making good impressions had always gotten the best of him, but his rambling brought out some points he'd otherwise forget to mention... it actually had helped him get a job... And of course, after a while, he would come out of his shell and be himself... Offering her a charming grin, still crooked as it always would be, he paused and made sure he was still looking as decent as he had moments before, and then looked back up at her.. "I have all night... so.. I mean.. if you need to get ready.. or.... something.. I have no problem waiting on you..." He smiled, relaxing his stance to wait for her response..[/blockquote]

arizona watched as alex's eyes widened when he saw the knife, but, she only lowered it slightly, she wasn't going to hurt him. Well.. I.. he gave me this.. to give to you.. I haven't read it... I promise..
she watched as he pulled a letter out of his wallet and handed it to her, raising an eye brow, er, thanks? she stepped back and after setting all the instruments down, with her back still turned to alex, she opened it, reading the words. oh how eric was wrong, she didn't hate him. . . she wanted to, but she couldn't. sighing softly, she folded the letter back up and put it in her pocket, before turning back to alex. I uh.. I guess I should.. go back to my room... the former light in her eyes returned, aware that it must seem strange to the guy standing in her room. Unless maybe... I can change your mind.. and take you out to eat somewhere.. I don't really care where we go... if we go anywhere.. we don't even have to go anywhere.. though out of respect I would perfer if we stayed out of your room... and respectful, he'd forgotten that in his letter. running her hand through her hair to push the bangs out of her eyes, she smiled lightly, he was definitely one to ramble, 'ey? I have all night... so.. I mean.. if you need to get ready.. or.... something.. I have no problem waiting on you... she sighed, looking around the mess of a room that was hers and then back at alex, she was truly about to turn him down, apologise that he'd been sent on this whole trip, and apologise that he'd gotten pulled into the strange thing between eric and her, but, then she inwardly shook her head, clearing the thoughts. y'know what, sure, why not. she smiled easily at him, her hands in her back pockets, her stance relaxed. did you have any place in mind? she questioned, figuring she'd go on that when figuring out what she would wear. she'd gotten a little more acquainted with the restaurants here, so she could guess what the dress requirements were for them now at least. her ivy eyes rested on alex, awaiting an answer, but then a little bit of motion caught her eyes. eve, come to investigate girl? she kneeled down for a moment to pick up the small fox that had slipped out of the closet and trotted up to her feet. straightening up, she held the little ball of fluff gently in her arms and then grinned slightly back at alex. Alex smiled at her when she seemed to agree to this plant... "Oh.." Well that wasn't as scary as he thought.. He let his grin broaden across his face, his eyes catching the light from it, but lost it when the sight of the animal reached him.. "Oh dear g- that's not a dog..." It was her pet, obviously, by the way she treated it... He sighed softly, forcing calm on himself, and then nodded... "Wow.. uh.. Well.. I thought.. we could walk through the park.. they've added some stuff to see there.." he smiled at that, and sighed..
"Then maybe we could go to the cafe down the road... just somthing light to eat.." Yeah.. he knew girls today didn't like to gorge themselves.. though there were a select few that didn't really care.. of course those were usually athletes too.. He made sure his wallet was in his back pocket by silently patting the pocket, and then eyed the animal in her arms.. It was rather cute... "I mean.. you don't have to dress up too nice.. just jeans and a shirt... if you'd like.. I wouldn't want you to go too far out of your way... plus.. you'll already look better than me anyways..."
She was absolutely gorgeous...
Her light eyes... the long blonde hair around her shoulders... the soft curve of her jaw... it was very feminine... The female body had always captivated him... it was strange... not in a bad way.. He knew how to control his emotions... as well as his imagination.. He smiled gently and then turned away.. "Uh.. I'll just wait here... take your time.." He sighed.. What the hell was going on? She had him more nervous than any other girl had in the last few months... but.. it wasn't that he was a player... and that he shouldn't be nervous... but... he was nervous because...
Well now he didn't know why...
He didn't know anything about her... that had to be it.. what did she come to school here for? What did she like about this place.. what did she not like about it.. What were her goals in life.. Favorites? Oh dear.. he had to learn something about her or he never would.. He leaned against the brick wall outside her dorm, and remained calm, or as calm as he could.. Her eyes.. they threw him off too.. but he couldn't turn away either... He had to look at them.. While he waited, he tried to imagine how the night would go..
Eric had told him he would be in good hands.. she was friendly.. kind.. but also wary of most bad situations.. She seemed nice, like he'd said... He noticed she had an edge to her as well... He remained quiet, his ears picking up on slight noises from within the room, hearing her shuffle within it... Well he probably had a few minutes to wait... I mean.. no girl took just five minutes to get ready for a date... unless she was a pro basketball player going to play one on one with her boyfriend... Did that even count as a date? Well it was possible it was... because.. well that was their lifestyle... oh god, he was wandering off...
He needed to stay focused right now.. get into date mode.
There wasn't even a date mode.... He was just a hopeless romantic with no clue at all stuck in the body of a jock who should, by laws of looks, be a total hit in the dating world.. However he thought he was lacking that ability.. He wasn't really as smooth as he'd like to be.. he was a big dork really.. He perked up as she seemed to come closer to the door, and practically jumped from where he was leaning, standing infront of the door again... He had to look like he was ready.. Well he was ready, but his heart pounded his chest right now.. he was going to die of a heart attack.. He wanted to wow her tonight.. but he didn't know.. how? Did it even matter? She didn't like him anyways...
He was here... by sick fate.. and she probably would just forget him...

Oh..
she couldn't help but laugh softly. but then she watched his grin falter as she picked up eve. Oh dear g- that's not a dog... she shook her head and smiled, eve, meet alex. i've had her ever since i left france, so, 'eh, four years, ish. she figured she'd let him decide whether or not he wanted to get any closer to the fox. Wow.. uh.. Well.. I thought.. we could walk through the park.. they've added some stuff to see there.. the park. . . m'kay, sounded nice to her. Then maybe we could go to the cafe down the road... just somthing light to eat.. she was tempted to roll her eyes at the fact that he had offered light eating, but, she didn't. I mean.. you don't have to dress up too nice.. just jeans and a shirt... if you'd like.. I wouldn't want you to go too far out of your way... plus.. you'll already look better than me anyways... she nodded and looked down at her beat up jeans that had tears in all sorts of places on 'em and her black tank-top that had the proclivity band logo on it. but then she heard what he'd said for what it was worth, as far as she knew, he'd just totally complemented her. looking down at eve mainly to avoid looking at him for a moment, she turned and set the little fox in a mashed up pillow on the bed. Uh.. I'll just wait here... take your time.. with a nod, she looked around her room once more and then back at alex. you're welcome to take a seat if you'd like, eve won't bother you if you don't want her to. with that, she turned on her heel and vanished into the connected bathroom. making sure the door shut behind her, she walked over to the sink and splashed water on her face, just giving her a moment to relax and think. alex seemed like a nice guy, he really did. running her hands through her hair, she sighed, turning away from the sink, she walked to the closet that was in the bathroom, it was technically the same closet as the one that was in the main room, but, it was a nifty little thing to have a door in the bathroom, she figured since he'd dressed up so nicely, she couldn't help but do the same. wow, what had gotten into her? either way, she pulled out a clean pair of dark wash jeans and a teal tank and a black sweater. pulling them on, and then pulling on her black converse, she walked back to the mirror and looked at herself, in truth, she hadn't done this in a while. but, she couldn't help but reach into the pocket of the pair of jeans she'd had on earlier and pull out the letter from eric. she would call him later and thank him. maybe even tell him she wasn't mad at him. not anymore. but, for now, she'd enjoy a night out with alex. turning off the light in the bathroom, she headed back out into the main room, smiling easily at alex and, with one hand in her pocket, she picked up her phone and her wallet and such and then shrugged. y'ready to go? so in truth, getting ready had only taken like, 5 minutes, but, heh. The dog... er.... fox seemed friendly enough. He offered it a smile and a friendly rub on it's head gently, and then laughed.. "Cute little.. girl.." Well he guessed girl, since her name was eve... Hopefully he was right. He didn't want to offend the animal.. they could attack... not that he would make it.. Oh shut up alex... He smiled when she came out,and laughed.. "See.. told you that you'd look better than me.." He opened the door for her at her question, and nodded... "Yep.."
Following her out, he stepped aside for her to lock it or do whatever else she had to.. "I like the shoes... I should probably tell you never to recommend guys shoes to me.. I love shoes.. which is probably weird to you.. I promise I'm not gay.." He gave a soft laugh, and started walking with her when she was done leaving, and reached for his phone, silencing it and dropping it back in his pocket.. "So... what is your major here? I mean, I figure by the guitar in your room, as well as the wickedly deadly drumsticks, that you're a music major..." He smiled.. "Personally, I'm an actor... but I do sports and a little music myself.. mostly just piano... nothing huge though.. But I can play the song from Titanic.. the one by Celine Dion..."
Did that make him a sissy, that he listened to Celine Dion?
He really didn't care... what he was mostly caring about right now was her... her answers, her opinions.. Was it normal for this.. He only hoped Mr. H knew what he was doing.. because if he didn't, this was bound to be a sinking ship before the night would be over. He sighed inwardly, though made no noise on the outside, and he made an attempt to calm himself.. Strangely, it worked.. Her calm demenour was working on his own skiddish one, and it made it easier on him to relax around her.. Maybe this was why it was so hard for him to date people he really didn't know.. And that could also be why most of his relationships failed...
He didn't trust new relationships, and ruined friendships when he dated friends.. That sucked.. He blinked at his own annoying mind track, and turned his attention back to her.. "Really, I don't think i came here to talk about me.. I wanna know about you.. from what Eric says, you're a rather interesting person, and I'm up for some fun... which he says your capable of... tell me everything.. I memorize all sorts of things.. I wanna know everything from your birthday to the last thing you ate today..." He frowned, his forehead creasing.. "Okay, that sounded stalkerish.. but I really do want to know everything about you."
He shoved his hands into his pockets, his thumbs hanging on the outside, and kept his stride even along side her own. He was proud of his current stature. Though he was shorter then most guys, he was built. He made sure of that. He was strong, stacked with muscle, and still lean so he wasn't to astoundingly bulky. He loved the fact that he was gifted with the ability to keep himself in this shape.. Of course he inhaled protein and worked out alot..
A price he had to pay for his build..
"However, I will tell you whatever you want to know about me.." Okay, so it wasn't that he was scared of women, but due to his relationship with his mother, and grandmother, he had a fond respect that was alien to most teens for his female figures in life. Perhaps it was another strange respect for Arizona as well... It was different, but not too different for alex... Clearing his throat, he smiled.. "So what should I call you? Ari... Zona? what...?" he blinked, waiting for her response...

See.. told you that you'd look better than me..
she smiled at this, thanks, she said this with a light, easy laugh and then watched as he walked over and held the door open for her. watching as he stepped aside, clearly waiting for her to lock the door or whatever, she couldn't help it, a bit of her old personality began to show again. who do you think would be stupid or suicidal enough to try to break into my room? she said it as a joke, but there was a hint of honesty in there. she'd caught one person who'd actually managed to get into her room once, he still couldn't remember the capital of the united states. his name had come to him after a few days. I like the shoes... I should probably tell you never to recommend guys shoes to me.. I love shoes.. which is probably weird to you.. I promise I'm not gay.. she looked down at her converse as they walked down the hall, she'd never really thought about it, but, she also laughed at his statement. no worries there, i don't generally recommend any fashion of any sort to people. watching as he took out his cell, she wondered if she needed to be quiet for a moment, or what, but then she saw him hit a button and then put it back in his pocket. wow. she always left hers on vibrate but that was simply because if her friends or siblings called, she had to answer it. if it were sky or tuna, they were generally in trouble, and if it were jace or kris. . . well, it was jace or kris. So... what is your major here? I mean, I figure by the guitar in your room, as well as the wickedly deadly drumsticks, that you're a music major... she nodded but also knew that he was about to say something more, so she left her comment until he was done. Personally, I'm an actor... but I do sports and a little music myself.. mostly just piano... nothing huge though.. But I can play the song from Titanic.. the one by Celine Dion... she looked over at him, an actor ey? cool. that's cool, acting was never my strong points, just a drama class here and there at camp. and my heart will go on is a really good song to be able to play on the piano. she paused for a moment, checking her music library in her head to make sure she had the right song. and yeah, music major. and the 'deadly drumsticks' yeah, those are one of my friend's inventions. . . knife sticks. but yeah, guitar, oboe, flute. . . a few more, but, i'd rather not list 'em all. . . she wasn't bragging, hell no, she was just filling in space. in her pocket, her phone buzzed, one. . . two. . . - good. text. she didn't even reach down to read it, whatever it was would either wait, or result in a very irked call from whoever the sender was. Really, I don't think i came here to talk about me.. I wanna know about you.. from what Eric says, you're a rather interesting person, and I'm up for some fun... which he says your capable of... tell me everything.. I memorize all sorts of things.. I wanna know everything from your birthday to the last thing you ate today... she laughed, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw him frown, obviously rethinking his words. Okay, that sounded stalkerish.. but I really do want to know everything about you. she smiled easily at him, putting her hands in her pockets and watching as they fell into step. he wasn't hard to be around, at first, especially once she'd found out that eric had set him up, she'd thought this would have been really uncomfortable, but, truly, he seemed like an interesting guy, However, I will tell you whatever you want to know about me.. she turned her eyes towards him, eyeing him curiously. So what should I call you? Ari... Zona? what...? she pondered this, everyone called her `zona, but, she'd been called ari before. truly, both are fine by me. most people call me `zona, but, 'eh. i respond to just about anything. . . she shrugged lightly and then pondered. and as for your many questions from earlier, heh, y'sure you want me to answer that? she laughed softly again and then pushed the main door to the dorm open, letting in the cool night air. stepping outside, she slowed and turned to alex. lead the way. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

He smiled when she asked him if he was sure he wanted her to answer them.. The air conditioning of the building faded into the cool night air, and he snuggled his leather jacket closer, the thin material of his t-shirt underneath not much of a shiled from the late winter air the night held for them. He looked over the edge of the dorm ground, the glimmer of the suns last rays bounding over the horizon towards them.. It made him look at her, and he liked what he saw.. It lit her face up in the most angelic of ways, and he found whatever impression she'd given him was gone instantly.. No.. he was smitten for a second by her devilishly good looks.. he smiled, and nodded..
"Uh.. yeah.. I am going to say yes.." She told him to lead the way, and then stopped short, his vehicle.. well.. ride per say coming to his vision.. "Well.. do you have a problem with helmet hair?" he asked, looking over at her.. "I am one of those kids most are afraid of because of my ride... but don't fit the persona at all... I was unfortunate to get my dad's harley for my 16th birthday..."
He nodded towards the rather well kept, glistening in the sunlight harley waiting for them. The spare helmet was strapped to the back, his own hanging lightly over the bar... He gave her a squeamish grin, not really sure he wanted to introduce her to bike riding like this.. but then here he was assuming things.. What if she owned one too? He smiled and waved towards it.. "If you wanna ride, you can.. or we can just walk.. I mean.. the park's... a ways off... from here.. better then missing the look of the park in the sunset... I'd have more time to see you in the sunset as well.."
His cheeks flushed softly as he spoke those words, and then turned towards his bike again, anything to keep his truth screaming eyes away from her face... She was captivating to look at, and lord only knows what he'd be led to try the longer he looked at her. He dug his pocket out for his keys, finally capturing them in his long, rough fingertips, and then blinked his attention turning back to her.. It was hard, really, to look away... Eric had said she wasn't your average teenage girl, and suddenly, Alex believed him.. he hadn't at first, after all... but there was something about her that set her apart from most estrogen driven teenage girls today.. He waited patiently, his keys dangling gently between his fingertips, paused like he was some god in the sunset.. Okay.. not really a god.. he wasn't arrogant enough for that to even cross his mind..
Maybe just someone who was looking at him. He hated his looks some days.. well that others found them attractive.. he found himself repulsive personally... Closing his eyes as the sun flared into his eyes and decided there was no use hoping she'd refuse the ride.. When she gave her answer, knowing what it would be by the look in her eyes, he moved towards the bike, pausing next to it. His legs easily touched the ground when he straddled it.. Yes, he had a liscense for this.. he stayed standing for her to get on, and then looked over his shoulder, the extra helmet hanging in his fingers for her to take..
No problem, right, wearing a helmet for safety...? right?

she hadn't realised just how chilly it was when she'd left class that afternoon, but, now, she was feeling it. looking over at alex, she wouldn't deny that she liked what she saw. the sun cast him into a very nice light, crossing her arms over her chest, she watched as he brought his own jacket around him tighter. Uh.. yeah.. I am going to say yes..
she chuckled easily and watched as he looked around. Well.. do you have a problem with helmet hair? she raised an eye brow and then looked towards the parking lot, the only vehicle that wasn't familiar was the harley. I am one of those kids most are afraid of because of my ride... but don't fit the persona at all... I was unfortunate to get my dad's harley for my 16th birthday... she nodded and ran her hand through her hair, nice, and nah, helmet hair doesn't bother me. she was now definitely regretting not grabbing her jacket. following him over to the harley, she had her hands in her back pockets, kinda looking between alex, the bike, and the sunset. and then she heard what he was saying. If you wanna ride, you can.. or we can just walk.. I mean.. the park's... a ways off... from here.. better then missing the look of the park in the sunset... I'd have more time to see you in the sunset as well.. she couldn't help but bite her lip and look down her feet slightly, sparing him sort of. but when she looked up at him, she could see that he'd turned his back to her. she just wouldn't mention it, she figured. watching him fish the keys out of his pocket, she smiled, the answer clear at the fact she hadn't objected yet. but, there was just something in the way alex was looking at her that made her wonder just what eric had told him. watching him straddle the bike, she smiled, and then looked to the next row of vehicles and spotted her truck, and then an idea came to her mind. give me just a second, i'm going to go get my jacket. jogging over to her truck, she hit the unlock button on her keys and pulled open the passenger side door. reaching in, she grinned, her jacket was actually in here. thank god. pulling the black letter jacket out, she slid it on and put her hands in the pockets, much better. hitting the lock button, she jogged back over to alex and smiled. so much better, in all honesty, i didn't realise just how much the temperature could drop. taking the helmet, she pulled her hair back into something of a pony tail without a rubber band and then climbed onto the bike too. slipping the helmet on, she shook her head slightly, she wouldn't deny, helmets always made her feel slightly claustrophobic, but, she put up with it. they'd had atv's and dirt bikes and such on the vineyard, so, she'd been riding around on them for a while, but, her father had had a motorcycle for a while, older, so much older, but, fun to ride around and into paris for the day. this would definitely be an interesting evening.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

He sighed inwardly in releif, nodding unconciously as she went to her truck... At least she wasn't scared of him for his harley.. That made him happy, oddly enough.. It took a lot to get this... bursting feeling in Alex's gut... but that's what he felt like.. He felt like he would explode with happiness in a moment, and that scared him. He stared off into space, barely registering her footsteps as she reapproached him... She was covered now, so he didn't feel the urge to let her use his jacket, sadly... He somewhat wanted to let her.. He'd gladly freeze for a lady... They deserved the best of the best, and if he could contribute anything to that philosophy, he would.
God she was gorgeous...
He shook that thought from the present moment, and moved forward so she could join him.. "Better hang on.. though it's a few years old, it still has some kick... It's only a '95..." he blinked and started it with a jolting kick, the roar of the motor filling his thoughts.. he felt almost.. as if he was floating on cloud nine when he felt his harley start.. even though it was intimidating, he loved it.. "Don't be afraid to touch me.. I promise.. I won't bite..." He gave her a grin of sparkling white chompers before shutting his helmet, leaning forward on his bike.. he was sure she knew the rules to this.. Lean the way you were turning on a bike as big as this.... if it was a crotch rocket, it would be easier to man it.
Well he gathered that from the last one he rode...
When she had a good grip on him, which he wasn't bothered by at all, he gunned it, turning the front wheel to the right as he backed out of the space, his feet sliding across the gravel on the pavement, making a raking noise. He made sure it was clear before he let it roar louder, ripping the silence of peace around the parkinglot, and headed towards the main road, a grin on his face. It was a free, invigorating feeling when he rode his bike like this. He tossed her a grin over his shoulder, and then let it shoot off towards the main road. He only hoped he was warm blooded enough to give her a little extra warmth as they road... The wind would be colder... at least they had helmets to shield their faces..
It didn't take long on his harley to reach the park.. not long at all.
He found a decent place to park, and pocketed his keys, waiting for her to get off before he did, simply standing in place. He undid the strap of his helmet, hooking it over his steering bar on the right side gently. So, their night began? Well the sun was still intent on setting... he could enjoy the last shreds of light on her face... She truly was a gorgeous girl.. "I really hope no one has ever told you that you weren't beautiful... they were big fat liars if they did, and I would kick their ass if I knew who they were..." He smiled charmingly at her, and stuffed his hands in his pockets, taking his place next to her, the side closest to the road... Yes, he was raised to be a classic boy.. lots of manners.
He was silent for a moment, and looked over at her.. "So.. do you have any idea what to do.. I mean, you don't have to do what I suggested... girls today have a very opinionated outlook on things.." He smiled sweetly, and kept his pace slow to match hers, though it wasn't by much since she was so long legged. Blinking chocolate eyes at her, he laughed.. It was impossible not to be attracted to her.. No wonder Eric set this up... He knew Alex would be smitten. He gazed at her face a second longer, and whipped his eyes away, towards the sun, watching the last light fade over the horizon... Goodbye daytime...

Better hang on.. though it's a few years old, it still has some kick... It's only a '95...
the thing was loud, but, she could hear his next comment over it. Don't be afraid to touch me.. I promise.. I won't bite... she smiled in response to his grin and wrapped her arms around his waist, just like her dad and brother had both always told her to do, but, the one thing that she'd always done was then lock her arms. easy, clamping her wrist with her hand, she wouldn't move, but that was just her own paranoia of going flying. riding on the back of a harley was something she hadn't done in years, and although she'd forgotten some of the quirks, but, one thing she'd never forgotten was how the temperature differed. even with her jacket, it was pretty cold out here. but, in front of her, alex was pretty warm. she herself didn't have much of a body temperature anyway, so, she couldn't help be thankful for the fact that she was close to the guy. watching as they drove down the different streets until they reached the park, she watched as he found a place to park and then slid off the bike, not hiding her eagerness to get the helmet off her head. holding it, she shook her head, getting rid of the audible buzz that was going through her ears. smiling at alex, her personality forced her to hold his gaze. I really hope no one has ever told you that you weren't beautiful... they were big fat liars if they did, and I would kick their ass if I knew who they were... until he said that. you're very charming, alex. her voice was soft, her eyes had dropped to the ground, but, she saw his shadow move so that he was standing between her and the road. nice. looking back up, she put her hands in the pockets of her jacket and glanced over at him. relax `z. she ordered herself. So.. do you have any idea what to do.. I mean, you don't have to do what I suggested... girls today have a very opinionated outlook on things.. she laughed easily at this and turned her eyes to look at him. 'girls today' ey? well, your idea is fine by me. her stance told him that she wasn't some girl who would just be like every other girl, but, she just laughed again, looking up at the sky. her stride was long, but easy, relaxed. she could feel his eyes on her, but, she didn't cave under her curiosity and look over at him, not this time. a calm smile on her face and her blonde hair catching the sunlight, she couldn't help but laugh. bring on the night. this could be fun.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

He had a feelling he'd be drawing her in his sketch book tonight... and from now on.. She was breathtaking.. or maybe it was that she wasn't like other girls here.. Not caked in makeup and showing off too much skin.. He liked his girls that way... not artificial.. Oh, there he went again... You know what assume means, dumbass? it means you make an ass out of you and her..." He glared inwardly at himself, the last shred of light disappearing into a creamy purplish pink haze on the horizon.. he liked it more than a guy should have, probably.. it was perfect. He caught her grin, and made one himself, not sure if he cared whether she was it or not.
"Ok.. well if you say so.." he added, her confirming his idea was okay. The road leading to the cafe from the park wasn't far from her. He pointed to the deer display deep within some trees, and laughed.. "I like that.. it gives it a woodsy feel... it's peaceful." He smirked down at her, and shrugged, continuing to walk.. They'd just taken down the christmas decorations, and had put up a few spring ones, though the weather seemed to lie about the season.. Still friggen cold. He ignored further thoughts about the weahter, since it wasn't where he wanted them to be at the moment, and then fell silent, just the rough scrapes of their shoes on the sidewalk, some crickets starting up their songs, and the slight breeze.. "If your jacket doesn't keep you warm enough.." he thought back to his memory of asking her if she needed his jacket... but he'd failed.. "Then you can use mine.. it'll be plenty warm for you.." He looked away from her at that, stopping at a crosswalk.
He made sure it was clear, a small minivan with two elderly people in it drove by, and he offered them a smile as they passed. When it was clear, he offered her his arm, walking across with her.. "So what do you normally do on dates.. I mean.. not that I would expect you to go on more with me... but I would definately ask.. it's out there..." He smirked shyly, and then turned on the sidewalk, the view of the park fading behind them as they headed towards the middle part of down town.. The cafe he was taking her to was quaint... not too crowded, but cozy enough for a day like this.. "I can do movies... I can do picnics when it gets warmer... I can even do things you may not ever expect to do on a date..."
He paused at that, and blinked, pursing his lips..
So he'd not expected to feel this way... All nerves had left him, and he was just relaxed.. She seemed a little more jittery then he was at the moment. He shuffled his feet lightly as he waited at the next cross walk, the light turning red after a moment.. he seemed to protect her as they crossed, making sure she didn't get hurt, and then stepped away subconciously as they arrived on the other side safely. "Brenda's" glowed dully ahead as they moved towards the cafe... "It may also be warmer on the ride back.. would you like me to take you to your dorm, next time.. or did you need to go to your truck?" He made a joke out of it, smirking..
This was perfect.. his perfect date.. Realy. He liked it... A definate first...

Ok.. well if you say so..
she watched as the last rays of sunlight vanished behind the trees. smiling up at him, yes up, he was actually taller than her. when he pointed out the deer display thing in the trees, she smiled. I like that.. it gives it a woodsy feel... it's peaceful. she nodded, but couldn't help thinking about the last time she'd been to the park. . . not too far from here, in fact. closing her eyes, she shook her head sharply to get rid of the thought. mhm, woodsy it is. she pondered this for a second and then smiled, thinking up one of the more peaceful memories of home. i used to see them all the time back home, they'd come wandering through the pastures. they continued walking. If your jacket doesn't keep you warm enough.. Then you can use mine.. it'll be plenty warm for you.. she smiled, but, just pulled her jacket around her again. when she looked up, she realised that they were at the crosswalk to head across the street. watching as an pair of elderly women drove by in their minivan, and then saw the arm he offered to her. she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and smirk slightly, but, she repressed it and took his arm with a smile. So what do you normally do on dates.. I mean.. not that I would expect you to go on more with me... but I would definately ask.. it's out there... he questioned when they reached the other side of the street. she didn't drop his arm though, in some strange way, she liked it. hrm. . . well, to be honest. . . i've never really had a boyfriend. but then she looked down at her feet for a moment. at least not a legal one who was technically a boyfriend. . . pushing the thought with force out of her mind, she looked back up at alex. I can do movies... I can do picnics when it gets warmer... I can even do things you may not ever expect to do on a date..."
she smiled, who knows, i probably wouldn't say no. when they reached another crosswalk, she couldn't help but read the vibes that were coming off of him. protectiveness was the most noticeable one. if only he knew. hah. but, she felt comforted by this little fact. felt comfortable with him. it was nice. looking up at the sign that glowed above the restaurant, she tilted her head with curiosity, brenda's? she'd never heard of it, but that wasn't surprising. It may also be warmer on the ride back.. would you like me to take you to your dorm, next time.. or did you need to go to your truck? she laughed, but feigned insult. no dissing the truck. it's my baby. she looked up at him and grinned, showing him that she was just joking, because, she knew that she could be pretty convincing at times. tonight was turning out pretty nice so far. biting her lip, she looked away from alex and the restaurant for a moment and then turned back to him, reaching up on her toes, she pecked his cheek. not in the romantic kind of way, just in the polite way. thanks again, i've needed a nice night out. even if you were sent, thanks. and then she turned and opened the cafe door, pulling away from him and held it open, feeling the warm air of the restaurant immediately start to warm her. He'd personally been pondering how he was going to end this date... and it suddenly scared him. He felt his stomach plummet as they reached the door to the cafe, his eyes turning on to her face as he stood in front of her... Once again, protecting her from the road... When she stood up, he figured it was to whisper something like thanks... but no... instead, she headed that way... and then he felt himself blushing and trembling at the sudden hot breath on his ear, her satin lips gently pressing onto his cheek. He blushed brighter as he met her eyes when she moved away, and smiled..
"No problem at all.. you know if guys got a response like that more often, we'd be less afraid to ask you out..." He shook his head, snickering lightly, and leaned forward, opening the door carefully. He paused to wave her ahead, and followed her in, smiling up at the heat of the eating area as it washed over them, carrying a hint of taste and smell similar to homecooked burgers and french fries. Not that he'd ever work here, or be particularly in love with that scent, but with his evening hunger... it was a nice aid to his stomach's temper tantrum... He blinked and looked around, spotting a small booth..
Taking her hand, he led her towards it..
Strangely enough, this wasn't the usual attitude for Alex.. He was usually more skiddish and careful with his actions, words, and emotions... But she seemed to hit the "bashful off" button, and had him running like she'd hardwired him differently in just moments.. He could still feel the blush she'd made him deal with as it faded. He gave her a grin, and looked away, lowering himself into the booth when she had finally sat down... His mom would be extremely happy to know her life lessons had held, and he still acted like she would have wanted him to. He blinked slowly up at Zona, and felt a smile curve his lips.. Pure curiousity flooded him as he thought back to how he would end this date with a little more calm outlook this time, and smirked..
Well he wouldn't be rude...
He had it all pictured: He'd walk her back to her dorm, and slowly walk away... Maybe they'd stay up late talking and laughing on her couch if she'd allow it.. no foul intentions there.. then maybe if he was playing his cards right, a goodnight kiss? Nah.. he really doubted that... but she was worthy enough to try.. or at least wish.. He had to keep wishing.. or he'd never know. You always had to try right? He blinked warm brown eyes at her as a 5'5 chubby woman with curly black hair approached them, grinning from ear to ear. Her voice was like a heavy plush blanket as it reached his ears, and he smiled.. "And what can I get you, darlings?" She was meaning drinks, as usual, and was in the midst of putting menus down in front of them.
He grinned, and looked down as he opened his menu, offering her a warmer smile when he looked back up. "Uh.. I think I'll take a chocolate shake, with a glass of water on the side.." She nodded, not needing to write this down.. With as many years of this service on her record as she had... well there was no need to write anything down. She waited for Arizona to speak, her eyes alight with joy as she looked the two of them over, seeming to nonchalantly match them together... She looked back at Zona after a minute, waiting patiently...
