"Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman..." Why was he so nervous? It was like he was spazzing out, but he knew he was okay. This was crazy though.. He was taking Holly on a date.. he'd not completely decided where yet.. but he'd told her to meet him on the dock. That was simple, wasn't it? He inhaled slowly and leaned against the wooden railing, watching a tugboat pull by. Blinking softly, he turned to gaze around, checking to see if she'd found him, and then leaned back on the wooden railing. "Seriously.. it's just a date Will.. calm down man.." He was whispering to himself, but surely a passer by wouldn't notice...
He grinned at the sight of an old man with his wife.. they were just walking.. holding hands, that priceless ring wrapped tightly around a wrinkled finger. Would he ever find someone like that, to put up with his crap until they were wrinkled and grey like those two.. He smiled at them as they walked by, the old man nudging his shoulder as he passed.. Will saw the look on his face.. "I'll be right back honey.." The lady smiled and took a seat on the bench, and then he looked at the man who was standing next to him.. "Let me guess son.. you're waiting on a woman?" Will chuckled lightly, thinking back to that song by that country guy.. Damn.. lyrics.. lyrics..
"Yeah.." he added, nodding. The old man gave a chuckle, his face worn with time.. but he was still bright and colorful.. "Well how long have you been waiting?" Will shrugged.. "Ehh.. maybe an hour.. but that's my doing.. I got here early.." The man smirked.. "Thinking?" He laughed and nodded.. "Yeah.. I just met her.." The old man seemed to think for a moment, and then reached up to pat Will's shoulder.. "Well you'll be waiting forever son... that's their job.." He nodded to the woman he'd arrived with, who was tossing cracker crumbs to the gulls.. "I've found I'm still waiting on her.. she takes her time.. but.. you know what.. I don't mind.." Will laughed.. "You know what.. I don't either.." The man nodded.. "So.. is she a pretty blonde?" Will blinked..
"Yeah.. how'd you know?" The old man nodded and pointed.. Sure enough, there was Holly walking briskly down the dock towards them.. "Yeah.. that's her.." The man nodded.. "Simple first.. then fancy.. it never fails.. save the best for last.." He turned from Will and headed over to his wife, and Will gave a chuckle.. When Holly was closer, he cleared his throat.. "Sweet old man.. just wanted to talk.." he added, hiding the new sparkle in his eyes by looking down.. Tag: Holly! Word Count: 521 Status: Finished! I've been jumping from the tops of buildings for the thrill of the fall Ignoring sound advice and any thought of consequence
----
Holly was also freaking out, but for a completely different reason. She had no idea what to wear...she didn't know where they where even going, to it was kind of hard to know what to wear. Usually she just wore whatever she felt like wearing, but what if they were going somewhere fancy and she was under dressed? Or even worse, what if they weren't and she over dressed. Both ways sounded absolutely terrible and embarrassing...although she normally wouldn't mind. She'd gone to places over dressed or under dressed millions of times...but for some reason she actually cared what Will thought of her. It was a confusing feeling...she didn't usually care in the least what anyone thought of her.
In the end, though, she decided upon wearing a dress...but a simple dress, so it could either look like she was dressing up a bit, or just look like she was wearing her normal clothes...and she was kind of wearing her normal clothes. She'd worn the green dress she'd put on just to go to classes numerous times, so it was no big deal. And she wore her orange ballet flats almost all the time..mostly because they were comfortable, but also because she didn't fall in them as much. Even if it didn't really match the dress. It was only on the way out the door that she saw a pair of sunglasses and decided to put them on. She left her hair down, and straight, not bothering to do anything nice to it, and didn't wear any more make-up than she usually did. She thought she looked nice...or at least kind of nice...
Holly then walked to the dock, where they had arranged to meet. She was still a bit nervous, but was trying her hardest not to show it, and when she finally got there she pretty much looked composed, or so she thought. She looked around for Will, and saw him after only a few moments...talking to an old man. She smiled a little bit, and began walking towards them.
When she finally reached her destination she smiled. It was so cute how he talked to the old man... "I love old people." She giggled a little bit, thinking about how stupid it was to say that...it probably made her sound like an idiot..but she couldn't exactly take it back. "What were you guys talking about?" She added, quickly, hoping he didn't catch what she had said about loving old people. She was bouncing a little bit, and playing with her fingers in a nervous way, to stop herself from biting them. She really wanted to grow them out...but figured maybe it would be better to get some fake nails put in...then again, those always ended up breaking, and she'd heard that it hurt when they did, so maybe that wasn't the best idea.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” He smirked.. How he agreed with that comment. There was something cute about old people.. but not the sick, half there ones.. They made him nervous.. He was afraid one might die while he sat there.. or.. they may fall out of their chair or something.. Though he'd be there to help, they just made him worry a lot more then he usually did. He looked her over and laughed.. "Uh.. he was complaining about his wife.. he's so cute.." Okay.. that was a lie.. but he didn't want to sound like a total pansy and say he was discussing his worries about being totally in love with Holly.. or was that making him a pansy by being afraid to talk about it..
He figured the second reason was the truth..
"And.. we talked about how I feel about you.." he added, though he hoped she didn't hear it.. He blinked slowly and looked her over, a smile curving his lips.. "That dress.. compliments you.. greatly.." She was gorgeous in anything.. but her curves only stuck out that much more in that simple dress.. He decided to make a mental note if they went shopping, take her to the spring clearance at JCP.. yeah.. lots of spring dresses.. She had a lot of leg, as they'd previously discussed.. and the skirt on the dress only accentuated them even more..
He liked his women with legs.. Tag: Holly Word Count: 308 Status: FINISHED! Lyrics/Song: “Waiting on a Woman” by Brad Paisley

Holly giggled, she couldn't even imagine being with someone as long as she was assuming the old couple had been together...the very thought kind of scared the hell out of her. Yeah, she was a little bit afraid of commitment...or a lot, but at least she admitted it. Most of the time. "very cute," She agreed. She probably wouldn't have caught what he said next were it not for the fact that she had some good hearing, even if most people didn't believe it, due to the fact that her voice was usually overly loud.
She wanted to ask what exactly they had said, but decided better of it...what if he'd told the old man that he was having second thoughts, and should have just stood her up, or something? Or maybe he said he was too nice to stand her up, but decided not to because he was too nice to do that...he was very nice, it was plausible. So instead she just said. "That's nice." in a nervous way. Holly never felt nervous...the feeling was completely foreign to her...she hated it.
At his compliment, however, she looked much less nervous. She smiled and looked down at herself. "Thanks." She said, smiling up at him. Every time she looked at him she got an odd feeling in her stomach...she didn't like the feeling...and yet she did. It was just all so confusing to her, she couldn't put her finger on weather or not it was a good thing, really.
"So, um, what are we going to do?" She asked, looking around, and feeling nervous again. She hated this. Why was she so nervous? It was just a date! She'd been on plenty of dates with plenty of guys, and never, ever got nervous.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” Will stared at her for what seemed eternity.. but it lasted only a few seconds. God she was cute.. and not like little kid cute.. a captivating kind of cute that made that nervous smile turn into a HUGE grin... He kind of wanted to tell her about what was really said between he and the old man. He laughed softly.. "Well.. right now, I have to blindfold you.. but I promise you can trust me.." he added, reaching for his back pocket..
Removing a long black bandana, he folded it carefully and then slipped it across her face to tie it behind her head, gently pulling her hair away. Didn't want to mess it up.. "There.. that should be good.." He sighed.. "Actually.. Holly.. what I was saying to the old man is how nervous I am.. and that.. I really want this to go good.." Slipping his hands into hers from behind, he walked her to the small boat for passengers that was taking a stop for more.. and offloading of course. He handed his money over and led her on, stopping on the ledge.. "Don't worry.. I have you.." he added, his eyes on her face as he let his chin rest on her shoulder..
"He laughed.. and said no need to worry that you were late.. said I'd be wasting all my time waiting on you from now until you get sick of me.." He hoped that was later than sooner.. Stepping from behind her, he leaned against the railing and looked down at the dark water.. he kept a hand in hers though, so she didn't flip out and take the blindfold off.. "This.. I hope this is great.." Tag: Holly Word Count: 356 Status: FINISHED! Lyrics/Song: “Waiting on a Woman” by Brad Paisley

Holly did not much like the idea of being blind folded...that meant she wouldn't be able to see! But she did trust Will...she was just a naturally trusting person. And so she allowed him to put the bandana over her eyes, even if the fact that she couldn't see anything made her want to rip it right off. "I trust you." She said, sounding sure of herself when she said it, because she was sure of herself. She trusted Will even more than she usually trusted people..which was saying something.
As she heard Will admit to what he had really said to the old man a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. At least she wasn't the only one who was nervous...although she was feeling much, much less nervous than she had only moments before, feeling his hand in hers. It was a good feeling. Other than the fact that she didn't like being blind folded she was also excited...he obviously had something good planned. She walked with him, letting him be the leader, and going much slower than she would have liked to...but she didn't want to fall or something. It would be even easier to fall than usual with the stupid blindfold on.
"I...hope I don't get bored of you too quickly." She said, her smile turning into a frown. Not a sad frown, really, just a frustrated one. Sometimes she wished she didn't get bored so quickly. But she quickly pasted her usual smile back on her pale lips. "This will be great. Can I take the blind fold off yet?" The last part sounded like some kind of whining four year old...but even though she was prone to whine, she was just kidding around. She didn't care if she had to wear the blind fold. Plus it gave her an excuse to hold his hand.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” Will gave a nervous laugh to match her grin.. "I hope you don't either.. but I can be a little boring every now and then.." This of course, he'd made sure he wasn't going to be boring.. "So.. you have any allergies I should know about?" he asked, making a checklist of the things they'd be dealing with.. Of course he wasn't revealing to her just what it was yet.. He smiled as the small passenger ferry rounded a bend, and the park where he'd parked his car was just a few blocks from there.. "I promise I won't let you have it if you're allergic.. anything and everything you're allergic to, I need to know right now.." He pushed his arm around her as the sway of the boat caused them to sway a little themselves, and held her closer to him..
God what was he doing.. Falling head over heels, that's what..
He couldn't believe that he'd allowed himself to fall so quickly for her.. but he had, and he really wasn't complaining about it now.. however the way she'd looked when she said she hoped she didn't get tired of him too fast.. that made him worry just a little. He sighed softly and steadied them as the boat stopped to unload and reload, and took her hand.. "Come on.." he added, leading her carefully to the dock, and then down it to the sidewalk.. "I promise I won't let you run into anything.. just.. here.." Standing behind her, he kept his hands held onto hers, and laughed.. "Easy steps, okay.." he added, careful not to step on her feet.. Allergies? That was a bit of an odd question...was he going to take her out to eat? Holly didn't think she was allergic to anything...other than cheap medal. When she was younger she'd pierced her ears, and they'd got infected. So she could only wear gold, or expensive silver...or plastic. So most of her jewelery was either plastic things from the dollar store, or very expensive things her daddy bought for her. Usually the first one, although she did have quite a bit of expensive jewelery, she only wore it on fancy occasions.
"I don't think I'm allergic to anything..." She said, slowly, still wondering what he had up his sleeve. It was obviously something special...oh, she was so excited! Dates were always fun, but she had a feeling this one was going to be great. "Other than cheap medal." She added, as an after thought. "Like, if I wear cheap rings my finger will turn green. Literally." She frowned a little bit. It was really sad, because all the best rings were cheap...at least in Holly's point of view. She wasn't one to spend too much money, even though her family wasn't poor by any means. She shopped at thrift stores, mostly, just because she liked the vintage clothes. Vintage wasn't fun unless it was truly vintage.
Holly forced herself to walk slowly, and carefully, even though it was totally against her way of life. She liked life to go fast...and everything about it. She walked fast, talked fast, really, she did everything fast. But she also didn't want to fall, or trip over anything, or run into anyone. "Can you please give me a hint as to what we're doing?" She asked, her voice sounding slightly whiny. Although she really didn't want him to tell her...she wanted it to be a surprise! Kind of. She also kind of wanted to know...just because she suspicion was kind of killing her.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” Will gave a soft laugh as she rambled on about her possible allergies and shook his head. "Okay.. well it wasn't a question worthy of that description, my rambling queen, but I will keep that in mind if I ever buy you jewelry.." he added, and smiled softly.. He laughed at her eager reaction to his surprise.. Well he wasn't going to make her wait forever, but a hint was only fair right, since she was this compliant with his escapade, right?
He nodded and laughed.. "Okay, I can tell you it involves sitting and eating.. but that's only the beginning.. this is a long amount of planning.." he added, and turned her on the sidewalk, the view of their picnic waiting for them. His mom was an incredible cook, and had so kindly complied to making Fetticini for them, as well as some chocolate covered strawberries and sodas in the cooler.. He blinked softly and nodded. That would suck if he had to eat all those strawberries by himself.. but she'd just said she wasn't allergic to them..
Stopping her near the quilt at their feet, he lowered his torso and scooped her into his arms so it would be easier sitting her down.. Lowering his own knees to the quilt, careful on the grass, he set her down gently, and then reached for the blindfold, close to her face as he undid the knot.. He gave a smile and then pulled back slowly, resting on his knees.. "Well.. here's surprise one.. hope you don't mind pasta and strawberries..." Tag: Holly Word Count: 334 Status: FINISHED! ----
Ramble queen? She wasn't sure weather or not that was an insult, but decided to assume it wasn't, as he had laughed...she was also assuming that he wasn't laughing at her, or anything of the sort. Not that she would usually mind, but of course with Will she did mind. Even if the entire world was laughing at her she didn't want Will to. Although he had called her his rambling queen...and being called his anything sounded good to her. Well, within reason, of course. There were obviously quite a few things that Holly would rather he not cal her.
Sitting and eating? That sounded...normal. But he'd said it had taken a lot of planning, so she figured they wouldn't just be going to some sort of normal place to eat, or anything of the sort. Although some kind of regular restaurant would be a bit of a disappointment she probably wouldn't mind all that much. At the moment doing anything with Will sounded great...but of course it was still early. There was plenty of time for her to bore of him. Then again, he was doing fairly well. She got bored of some people after talking to them for only a few seconds, and many after a day or two. Only a precious few people she could actually take an interest in for much longer than that. That was probably the reason she found herself having so few close friends, or anything of the sort.
As he picked her up it took her a bit by surprise, but she just giggled. The only thing she really liked about her body was that she was thin enough that even the less muscular guys could pick her up, at least for a few seconds. Luckily for her Will was quite muscular, so she didn't even worry about it. As she was placed down she felt excited. Her surprise was coming soon, she could feel it! And her blindfold was coming off, which was a definite plus. Surely enough she felt it slide off, and saw his face close, which was always a nice sight. But she was too excited to look at it for more than a second. So as he was pulling back she looked around eagerly. A picnic! Oh, this was new! She hadn't had a picnic since she was little! "Oh, this is great!" She gushed, a smile bright on her face. "I love strawberries! Oh, this is really great! No guy has ever made me a picnic! This is perfect!" She stopped looking around, and moved her eyes towards his face, a smile still lighting up hers. "You're the best person ever." And at that moment she really meant it. At least at that moment.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” This was too crazy.. This was the girl he'd wanted for ages, who he tried so hard for.. She was the one.. and he knew it as soon as she called him the greatest person ever.. Though he was sure it was a huge over statement... But he liked it coming from her nonetheless.. He smiled gently at her surprise, and nodded.. "Well I'm glad I can be... what you were hoping for?" he reached for the basket and set it between them, sitting back on his arms and reached over with the other to open it, pulling out the two containers of fettucinni, which was still warm, and then two glasses, as well as silverware and napkins rolled up.. by his hand as well.
Reaching for the cooler that had been sitting next to it, he laughed.. "My brothers were kid enough to set this up while I went and got you.. I don't know where they are.. but they'll probably be watching.. so we have to be extra entertaining.." he added, laughing.. Pulling out the pepsi he'd brought for himself, he blinked.. "I brought.. Sprite.. Pepsi, and Cherry Coke.. I didn't know which one you'd want.. there's also a water in there if you don't want any of them.." Scooping ice into the cups, he popped his can of pepsi, and poured some into the glass, letting the foam go down before he continued..
"I'm just so excited that this is good enough.. I was worried that you'd think I was lame.. or stupid.. and it was all worthless... you're one of the first girls that has actually made me worry about myself.." He blinked.. Okay.. there was another weight lifted off his chest.. "I want to be perfect.. but you seem so happy with anything I do.. I wasn't sure whether to do it up or do it down.. I didn't have any idea.." He blinked slowly and set his pepsi down, looking over at her.. "I just want to be.. everything you like.. and.. I guess it worries me.." he whispered, his eyes sinking to watch the last bit of foam disappear into his soda.. Tag: Holly Word Count: 443 Status: FINISHED! She nodded, watching his every move as he arranged everything. Of course he was what she was hoping for! He was so sweet...well, she'd always liked sweet guys. Which wasn't a good thing, because those were the ones she usually ended up hurting. But Holly didn't want to hurt Will, she really didn't. Especially not when he was trying so hard for her! No, she wouldn't let herself, she really wouldn't. Even if she got bored out of her skill with him she wouldn't. Plus the way things were going she didn't know how long it would be until she got bored of him...but she was hoping he'd get bored of her first. It was odd, but the thought of getting her heart broken sounded more appealing than breaking his.
His brothers did this? That was so nice of them! She would have to thank them when she met them. Of course she thought when rather than if...she wasn't much of an if person. Instead she usually just assumed such things would happen. "That was really nice of them." She said, glancing around. She didn't see them...so she assumed they were hiding. Which would make more sense than if they were out in the open and spying on them. "Yes, we must be extra entertaining." She agreed, giggling, then stopping so she could hear what he was saying about the soda's. "Oh, I love cherry coke!" She said loudly. She always got even louder when she was excited. She reached into the cooler without even thinking about it, opened a cherry coke, and poured some in the glass.
As he spoke her eyes didn't leave him the whole time. He was so worried about making her happy...she felt horrible. Like she shouldn't have even warned him about anything. But that would have been horrible! And the fact that she didn't was like living proof that Will was different. Usually she didn't really...care enough to tell them about how quickly she would bore of them. It was probably cruel, but she didn't try to be cruel, she really didn't. "Hey, no, you don't need to worry." She said, her voice sounding firm. She didn't want him to worry, even if it was probably smarter for him to worry. "You're great, this is all perfect...I really do think I would like just about anything you did for me." She smiled a little bit, and didn't add for the moment, even though it would have been more truthful of her to do so. "So, just stop worry, and relax."

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” Will blinked slowly for a few minutes, and then looked up as she finished speaking, catching the mass of curls he shared with his brothers as it slipped around the tree.. He lowered his eyes back to her as the conversation went from deep to more light hearted, and he sighed softly. He couldn't help but worry ever since she told him that she got bored quickly.. well when it came to most things.. but guys especially.. It worried him.. Why was he so keen on keeping her with him.. not that she was even with him.. yet.
Yes.. yet..
He was planning on keeping her around for a long time.. but why? It wasn't like it was in her nature to want to stay anyway, and it was more likely that he was forcing her to stay with his sympathy attempts.. but they weren't sympathy attempts at all were they? Was he doing it for guilt.. no! He was doing it because he wanted to keep her here, and he was willing to prove her wrong.. in her theory.. He prayed it worked.. Catching another glimpse of movement as Kade slipped from the tree and took off, Will rolled and got up.. "Be right back Holly.." He dove from the spot he was standing in and chased after Kade.. Shane, however, slipped from the tree behind Holly, and sat down next to her..
"He's such a pansy.." he added, reaching for the strawberries as Will tackled Kade.. "And.. he's really smart.. but he should have looked for us first. I'm guessing you're holly.. I'm Shane.. the older brother... Oh.. snap.." Kade was flying towards Shane as fast as he could, Will on his heels as he caught the hem of his shirt.. As if you'd witnessed a train wreck, you wanted to laugh.. cry, and break something all at the same time.. It was comparable to the boys rough housing.. Shane yelled and took off to stand behind holly, and Will managed to catch Kade, both tumbling to the grass.. A small laugh exited Shane as he walked towards his younger brothers..
"Hey.. hey.. you're on a date.." he added, pulling Will from Kade.. Tag: Holly Word Count: 454 Status: Figured I'd introduce the brothers that no one is playing.. XD Lyrics/Song: “Waiting on a Woman” by Brad Paisley

Holly couldn't help but feel a bit confused as he said he'd be right back. Where was he going? But as she watched him walk away it made sense. And even more sense as someone appeared next to her. She had a feeling even before he started talking that it was Will's brother. There was a slight family resemblance. She was about to say how it was nice to meet him, but she only got to the "Nice" before she glanced over and saw Will and what she was assuming was his younger brother. It was all very amusing to her, probably because she'd never done anything like it...well, not with her brother. She figured it was a guy thing.
Before standing up she grabbed a strawberry, then she bounced up and skipped over to where Will and his brothers were. "I like your brothers." She said to Will, a smile on her face. "They're funny." She took a bite of the strawberry, and wondering when they would leave. It wasn't exactly normal that his brothers were there on their first date, even if it was certainly entertaining. "Can we go back now?" She asked, a pout forming on her lips, although her eyes were still smiling. Her eyes were almost always smiling. "I'm hungry." It wasn't a lie, or anything, she really was hungry...she just wasn't quite as hungry as she was making it seem. Mostly she just wanted to get back to it just being she and Will, even if she did like his brothers. She'd have to introduce him to her brother Luke someday, she was sure the two would get along. Even though she and her brother were considered complete and total opposites by most people.

“Yeah, she'll take her time but I don't mind waitin' on a woman...” Will laughed softly as Shane pulled him away from the gasping body belonging to Kade. Kade offered a death glare, and then a sheepish smile as his eyes fell on Holly.. Will gave him a warning stare and Kade laughed.. "Okay.. we better let you guys eat then.. See you later will!" Shane added, getting the feeling they'd worn out their welcome. He grabbed Kade and drug him off, the younger curly haired boy taking one last glance at Will and Holly as Will led her back to their picnic.
"Oh man.. I'm so sorry about that.." he added, smirking. Lowering himself beside her onto their quilt, he opened her bowl, the steam from the still fresh dinner leaving dew like dropletts on the lid of the container. He smiled and handed it to her, going for his. "I didn't really think about how hungry I am until you reminded me.. they're crazy.. you should spend as much time with them as I do.. they might just wear you out.." He smirked at this, and did a silent prayer as he stabbed his fork into his noodles..
No reason to throw god or jesus on her.. That was her decision.
Will took the bite he'd gathered on his fork, and sighed softly.. "See, this is why I kinda don't wanna graduate. Then I won't have mom's home cooking every night. Man I'm going to miss it.."
