___________________________________________ Lucian had spent the first half of his day sleeping though class. Not that it was such a surprise, really, being him and all, but for once he’d actually had a more or less good reason to stay up all night. Almost all night, anyway, and that very reason kept him distracted through acting class. Not that it was a very interesting lesson, but still. P.E brought him back to life, and as he walked down the hall after class at the end of the day, he tried to figure out where the music majors were located. He really ought to know, seeing as he’d cleaned up everyone’s mess for such a long time already, all over the school. He’d failed, however, to care about just who those students were. He’d thought they were boring, lifeless, but he’d been so incredibly wrong, short sighted. Suffice to say, they weren’t the kind of people he was used to hang out with, but perhaps that was the entire idea behind sending him here instead of giving him some other punishment. It had, in the end, been his own decision to start here when he was done.
He remembered how he used to hate this place, how he missed playing high school basketball and how he’d been so close to his dream, up until the point where he stopped caring about anything else. Walking past a row of windows, he looked out at the yard below, the grass that had imprisoned him here to begin with. If he hadn’t given up on high school, not moved away from California, not stolen that car and not ruined the school’s courtyard, none of this would have happened. He’d still be out there on the street, playing basketball, drinking, ruining his chances of ever getting an education. It had been a miracle that the school had even accepted him, but he knew his father had paid a little extra for it, as if paying them for all the trouble and headaches he believed his son would cause them over the next two years.
He’d been wrong. Well, as wrong as you can be, seeing as he’d just spent about a week in this place. It was also his first week to ever live in a dorm room, and he was not too pleased with life on campus. It was a non-alcohol area, and if he stayed out too late, he would not be able to get back in. He could always sleep over at Mark’s place, but he did not want to give away the impression that he was already having trouble following the rules. No. The actor had found another solution. Whenever he was back too late for the doors to be open, he slept in his car. He loved his car, the white 1974 Corvette Convertible. Before he came here, he’d had a brand new blue Jaguar Convertible, but he wasn’t a new-car person. He cared more for the old fashionable vintage cars, as they had a more characteristic design. He liked to think that they had more personality than the new, polished, perfect ones.
Fishing his iPhone out of his pocket, Lucian scrolled down the list of numbers. L, M, N… ‘nessa. As he chose her number and pressed the call-button, he absently noted that her number lacked a background picture. He always assigned pictures to his contacts due to the fact that he saved everyone with their nicknames and not their real names. Too many people in this world shared the same names, but the nicknames varied. Walking past one of the classrooms, he heard a phone ring just as he’d pressed call. Stopping, the young man peered into the open classroom. Some people were on their way out, but some blonde girl was trying to find her phone. Standing there in the doorway, Luke waited a couple of seconds for the last person to leave before he silently stepped into the classroom. She had her back against him, and then he heard her answer her phone. “You know what, I think maybe I’ve called the wrong number.” he joked, a smile creeping across his face.

"Maybe I'm A Deamer, But I just Believe, And I Know What I See" Vanessa was in her last class of the day senior english.. and she'd been trying her best not to fall asleep as she tried to focus on the tv infront of her..their lastest paper that was due by the end of the week was on the movie Romeo and Juliet and they were watching it in class, of course Vanessa knew exactly why she was so tired staying up till 3am chatting with a mysterious stranger but thats what you get when you stay up till 3am chatting on AIM she'd told herself while rushing to get ready that morning after waking up late and missing the first half of her first class that morning music composition, of course she hadn't really been thinking about that at the time, she was much to intrested in the conversation they'd had going. In fact she wasn't really thinking much of anything as it was only when she'd woke up that morning she remebered she didn't even get his name, she had his number but not his name. They were meant to meeting that afternoon, a though that had been given her butterflies in her stomach all day so much so she hadn't been able to eat anything at lunctime so every so often during the day her stomach would growl but she'd still been unable to eat. Part of her even wandered if she was crazy to even except such an offer, she barely knew him but for some reason she just couldn't refuse.. and he was good looking. She knew Carter would think she was crazy hence why she'd hadn't mentioned it earlier when she'd met him for lunch although she had a feeling he knew something was up when she didn't eat anything but he didn't say anything..she figured he probably quiz her about it later. She stifled a yawn running a hand threw her blonde curls ..god this was torture how she'd manged to stay awake this long was amazing to her so how she was going to be able to play basketball after this she had had no idea. All sorts of sanario's began to play in her head of how the afternoon could go..some good some not so good. She just hoped to god that she wouldn't make a complete fool of herself infront of him by saying something stupid or hitting him with the ball or even falling asleep on him something she was pretty sure could possibly happen if this class didn't end soon. She glanced at her watch, still another 15 minutes to go she groaned folding her arms across the desk and laying her head down on them..she swore to god in her head that she'd never stay up that late when she had classes the next morning again if she could just make it threw the next fiftheen minutes.
She lifted her head a few minutes later propping head up with her hand again trying to focus her attention on the tv..not that she was really listening to the words, she had this move on dvd so she could watch later if she needed too. She just wanted that bell to ring.. finally the moment came and Vanessa sprang to life..she grabbed her books and hurriedly putting them in her bag before getting up from her chair.. but by the time she'd gotten up everyone else was filing towards the door so she waited by her desk as everyone made their way out when the familer tune of heartbreaker by will.i.am began to ring from her bag.. a small smile came to her lips it had to be him.. as Vanessa assigned certain ringtones to different people like friends or family or..boyfriends she turned around as she began to rummage around her bag for her blackberry.. finally she found it pulling it out "Hello" she said in her sexiest possible voice.. “You know what, I think maybe I’ve called the wrong number". came the reply with a small laugh she bit her lip realizing the voice wasn't just on the other end of the phone it came from behind her..she swallowed hard and gave alittle laugh before turning around .."We'll if this is the wrong number.. I think maybe I should hang up" she teased with a smile 'status;; finished =) 'tag;; lucian 'word count;; 762 'lyrics;; Delta Goodrem - Longer 'other;; first longish post in ages hope it dosn't suck lol

___________________________________________ As she turned around, Lucian was certain she was the girl he’d seen around a couple of times, the one he’d first thought he was speaking to earlier this morning. Or the night before. Whichever was more suitable. His smile widened at her cute remark, turning into what could be described as a grin. He held her gaze for a moment. “Right. I’ll be seeing ya.” he replied, keeping the phone conversation on for a few seconds before sliding the phone back into his pocket. It was a funny feeling, meeting her like this. They’d both practically spilled their life stories last night, the short versions, and he felt like he’d come to know her already, at least a little bit. And, still he did not know her name. He knew her dad was dead, that she thought her mother would never find love again, that she lived in an apartment all by herself and that she was a singer/songwriter, but he did not know her name.
Come to think of it, she probably didn’t know his either. Not unless she’d seen him cleaning the hallways or fixing broken things around school for the last year. She probably hadn’t, considering her remark last night about how she could not remember his face. Certainly he remembered hers. The problem now was figuring out how to introduce himself. Hi, I’m Lucian. So not him. Hey, let’s go. Oh, my name’s Lucian by the way, what’s yours? I’d like to congratulate whoever pulls that one off and survives, Luke thought. “Nice one.” he complimented her smart reply, adjusting the bag he’d thrown over his shoulder. “Hey, I was thinking, maybe we could swing by some place and buy something to eat? I’m starving, so we could always have some sort of picnic by the basketball court or something? It’s a nice place actually, like a little park , I dunno if you’ve been there before. If you bring your guitar and we have both lessons there.” Short pause. “And, you can bail on me whenever you feel like it.” he added, joking of course, but you never knew.
In the corner of his eye he saw the end credits of some movie still going as the teacher packed all the stuff together. Romeo and Juliet. God, you’d think an acting student like himself would know that book in and out, adore it, but Lucian had, in all honestly, never read it. Yes, he loved to read and he’d read a lot, but it had never occurred to him to read Shakespeare. Shakespeare was preppy, and he was the base of his previous prejudices against actor majors. Still, it was a classic. ”New assignment or something?” he asked as they were on their way outside, looking up at the tv for a second to let her know what he was talking about. He still hadn’t told her his name, but he figured he would whenever the situation allowed it instead of pressing the matter. It really wasn’t important either. Still, he did have a suspicion about her name. ‘oh vanessa’ as her screen name on AIM kind of hinted that her real name was Vanessa, hence ‘nessa on his phone.
Outside, his car was parked at the school parking, the low, white car pretty visible among the larger cars many of the teachers drove. There was one other car there that he admired as well; a black Mustang, also an old model. He’d never been able to figure out just who drove it, but the car was pretty enough. His convertible was spending its last days without a roof on, seeing as the rainy autumn weather would set in soon, but as it was still somewhat warm outside, he risked leaving it off for just a little while longer. ”This is it.” he commented as they approached his car. He unlocked the door on her side first, opening it before moving on to his own door. He would have asked what she thought of it, but he figured she probably wasn’t a car enthusiast, and that would imply that he was overly excited about his car, which he really wasn’t. He loved driving, yeah, and he loved his car, but he was not a car-guy.

"Maybe I'm A Deamer, But I just Believe, And I Know What I See" "Yeah I guess you will" she laughed alittle the phone even though they were standing right infront of one another, his eyes still holding her gaze. She used this moment to study his face..she remembered telling him last night she was fairly sure she'd hadn't seen him before and now she was seeing him in person she was postive she was right, I mean how could she not remember someone this attractive. She watched him as he hung up slideing it back into his pocket, she in turn hung up her blackberry tossing back in her bag brushing some stray curls from her face as he spoke again, she smiled.."Thank you, your's wasn't too bad either" she said adjusting her bag on her shoulder feeling a wave of relief that he'd found her remark funny and not at all insulting. There was an awkward pause for a moment..in which Vanessa began to panic trying to think of something cute or funney to say even though her mind was comepletely blank and all she could think about was how lucky she was that she'd been the one he'd talked too the night before, out of all the girls in this school he'd choosen her. Thankfully she was resuced when he finally broke the silence suggesting they go get something to eat and have a sort of picnic by the basketball court, he even mentioned her bringing her guitar .. “That sounds like a great idea, I love the park I sometime's go there to write". she smiled “My guitar's back at my apartment we could stop by and pick it up on the way to the park after we get some food" she said then laughed hearing his comment about the fact she could bail on him whenever she wanted “Wow talk about confidence.. you suprise me last night I figured you had it in spades" she teased with a smile “If I didn't know better I'd say your trying to get out your guitar lesson" she laughed noticed his eyes wandering towards the tv infront of the classroom.. before turning back to her and they began walking out into the hall
“Oh yeah..lame huh ..got a paper due on it for friday". As they walked down the halls and out towards the parking lot she realized she still didn't know his name, he'd hadn't formally introduced himself to her and she'd hadn't wanted to ask.. for all she knew maybe he though he'd already given it to her and she was afraid of embaressing herself by asking. She'd figured he already knew her name by the fact he hadn't asked and because her AIM screename was Oh Vanessa so in her mind it made sence to assume that he knew.
They reached the parking lot and Vanessa followed him until they reached a small white car.. and she heard him say that this was it, as in his car. It was different of all the newer fancier cars that most of the other student's drove, she liked it she ran her hand along the side of the door taking it in before looking up at him and smiling..“Nice car..my dad was into car's like this, he had one similar.. we'll he had a few actually my brother drive's one of them, my mom sold the others" she said as she got inside closing the door behind her.. seeing a car like this brought back a few memorys for Vanessa.. especially one from when she was around 5 or 6 and her parents had taken on her a day trip to the beach in her dad's red 1974 corvette convertible..she remembered the fun they'd had that day..the salty sea air, the wind on her face, playing on the beach, the fair ground rides..it was one a the few memories she'd had of her dad. She was suddendly snapped from her thoughs by the door closing on the other side..she glanced in his direction smiling weakly..sure her face was flusing red again ""Sorry..memory flashback" she laughed alittle as the car started and she turned her attention back to the road infront hoping he didn't think she was a complete idiot 'status;; finished =) 'tag;; lucian 'word count;; 823 'lyrics;; Delta Goodrem - Longer 'other;; yay starting to get the hang of this again lol
