pulling his jacket closer around his body, his shaggy brown hair falling over his golden eyes, he walked through the snowy courtyard towards the theatre. that was all he was looking for, the theatre. his book bag was slung carelessly over his shoulder, inside were his keys, his script, and his computer, all his essential belongings. he was one of the few students who actually got their own key to the auditorium, and that had taken a lot of work, a lot of applications, and quite a fiar few of weird interrogations. pulling one of his hands out of his pocket, he pulled out the keys from the book bag and jogged over to the main door of the auditorium. unlocking his heaven, he stepped into the warm, dark, musky-smelling auditorium that he spent so much of his time in.
walking through the auditorium, he turned on a few lights, just making the place less eerie, making his way up towards the stage, he smiled, looking out at the darkness beyond, the lights of the stage making it almost impossible to see anything or anyone out in the audience. putting the bag on the floor and then sliding off his jacket, he jogged into the side-wings and pulled out one of the stools that sat just behind the curtain and carried it back onto the stage, setting it not in the centre, but, close enough.
digging through his book bag, he tried to find his script amongst all of the other papers in the bag, but, to no avail. frowning, he thought as to where he could have left it, the only place he could come up with was the student office in the loft. shoving his hands in his pockets, he headed deeper into the catacombs of the auditorium, heading towards the staircase at the back, he flipped on lights as he went, watching the hallways light up in front of him. the staircase was an interesting object all in itself. it was student built, but, that was the funniest part, wrought iron, spiral staircase that had no step being the same size as the next, and it was so steep you almost had to go up on your hands and knees. his suggestion was a dumbwaiter.
climbing up the stairs, he looked around in the office, all the students had a desk of some sort, or at least, all the seniors did. his was just a makeshift desk that he'd made out of an older desk, and a beanbag chair. he loved it. digging around on the piles of scripts and random papers, he grinned, plucking the thin little script out of the bottom of the pile. he had no clue how it had gotten there, but, eitherway, he knew he had it now.
ambling back downstairs and out towards the stage, h hummed softly to himself, the music was the score that the director of the spring play had been playing the day before in class. it was really quite beautiful, in his opinion. a vampire play, he had gotten the lead, kelton verax. the american teen who got turned into a vampire by a raving gang of vampire exiles, and then he fell in love with a human girl, one who taught him how to control his thirst. it would be an interesting play, that was for sure.

Jamie glanced around frantically before glancing back down at the small slip of flimsy paper in her hand. Please report to the theatre...yeah, like the new girl knows exactly where that is, she thought irritably before turning in another random direction. Running down a random hall wasn't the smartest thing when you where looking for a certain room, but she kept going. Moving her blue gaze from side to side she tried to find the right room.
After another few minutes the Junior signed angrily and asked where the random auditorium was. Apparently it was her day to go meet the theatre director and get everything she needed. Though, no one had given her directions, and it was still only her first day. After getting her directions, Jamie dropped off her bags and headed outside.
Opening the door she smiled, being from Texas, she hadn't often seen snow. Now however, just being at this school for about three days, she'd already seen more snow than she had all her life at Texas. With a small smile she ran down the icy sidewalks trying to get to the auditorium before the director could kill her. Though the sidewalks could kill me...but, I already have a broken arm, so what's the diff with breaking something else? She thought in a kidding way before she almost fell, but caught herself.
Turning the final corner and bursting through a set of doors she gulped as the small traction she had kept suddenly disappeared beneath her feet. "EP!" She squeaked before almost falling on her face as she tried to stop. Thinking slightly she kept trying to slowly slow down her speed as she ran down the decline. Not having much to do, Jamie braced herself. It was about two feet until she came to the two steps that would bring her onto the stage and straight into a guy.
Still trying to not slide on the carpet or fall on her face, Jamie jumped up onto the stage. Before, when Jamie was little, she had never had balance. Now was proof she still didn't have any. As her feet landed on the polished wood floor she felt herself slide. Flailing her arms wildly she tried to stop but failed miserably as she collided right into a tall long haired guy.
As Jamie ran into the guy she squeaked in alarm before landing loudly on the wood floor. Her cast and head made the loudest sounds as the hit. Jamie cringed slightly when her head hit, besides it had only been about a week since she'd gotten over the concussion from her dad. She moved her eyes hurriedly over her arm before moving her gaze to the guy she'd ran into.
Jamie felt her jaw drop slightly as she recognized the guy. "Conner...is that you?" She asked wonderingly as she smiled up at him, if it was the Conner she'd known then it would be great. The boy she'd known when she was eight was possibly standing right in front of her. She looked at him and couldn't help but blush as she looked up at him. "Sorry for running into you." She muttered trying to make sure her blush wasn't noticeable, from what she remembered, Conner had gotten really cute over the years.

conner paused when he reached the edge of the stage wings, searching in the silence for some noise, he could have sworn he'd heard something. passing it off as his imagination, he headed out onto the stage, putting his script on the stool and then reaching down for his water bottle out of his bag, when he stood up, he felt something collide with him, almost knocking him off his feet. he jumped, but, he looked down at the girl who had landed on the floor before something occurred to him; she looked really familiar. running his hand through his hair, he tried to place her face, but, he felt that he was missing something. Conner...is that you?
now he was completely confused, he was pretty popular here, simply because of his talent on the stage, yet this girl didn't seem to be seeing that conner. Sorry for running into you. he shook it off and extended a hand down to her, still letting his mind race. sorry, but, do i know you? his gold eyes searched her face and then his memory, and one thing made him remember something. the cast. back in the orphanage, there had been a girl who talked to him every day, but she'd suddenly vanished one day, quite suddenly in fact. what was her name? he'd blocked most of those memories from his mind long ago. . . jamie? he asked, curiosity covering his face. he hoped he had the right name, he knew it was something like that. but then he had a memory come up, one where some of the other guys in the orphanage had been picking on her, saying how her parents had hoped she had been a guy, so they'd named her jamie. he'd defended her. she'd been his first true friend. your arm alright? he asked, pulling her to her feet, taking extreme note of the cast on her arm. he could remember her with a cast on her arm, it couldn't possibly be the same injury, it had been almost six years since he'd seen her after all. a lot could change in six years, he remembered the silly little eight year old who was fun and easy to be around. now, he saw that she had grown up, considerably. she looked, in all honesty, pretty nice now. not quite as kiddy. giving her an easy smile, he tilted his head, positive that was who it was now. what're you doing here? [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Jamie was worried that she’d just made a mistake on the guy’s name, he looked so much like the little boy she remembered. He’d been the boy that she’d met afterschool by the orphanage, but as she moved her gaze away she suddenly had doubts. Sorry, but do I know you? Jamie felt her heart sank. It was her first day and already she’d mistaken a random guy in the theatre for a boy she hadn’t seen in around six years.
A confused look crossed her face as she noticed that the theatre guy was searching her face. Well maybe he’s actually Conner, if it is then wow…it’d be a small world after all. She thought as a few other memories of back then flew through her mind, times when he’d stand up for her and when she’d first met him. It’d been a nice time in her life, and then suddenly she had to leave with her father, and hadn’t seen the guy since.
Jamie? The junior couldn’t help but let a bright smile cross her face. Wow, I thought I had already messed up on names and it’s only my first day. She said and nodded, but yeah, it’s me.. She ran her right hand through her dirty blonde hair and glanced again at her cast on the left arm. It must be odd, last time she’d seen him she had a cast on that very same arm. Jamie sighed and looked back up at him, as he reached down to help her up.
When Jamie was up she nodded her thanks and whipped the back of her pants leg with her hand absentmindedly. Your arm alright? She nodded and turned her left arm over before looking up at him. Yeah, this time it’s not from falling off a mountain. My dad…uh, I had tripped the other day and well, I broke it again. Not as bad, I’m supposed to get this off soon. She said, adverting her blue eyes from his. She wasn’t really wanting to tell him that it was her Dad who had caused her injury. That wasn’t the best thing to let a random guy know.
She felt her smile return as she glanced around the room. Jamie had forgotten how easy it was to be around him, maybe it would be the same now. She’d been hoping to know someone and as it turned out she did. What’re you doing here? Jamie moved her gaze to him and shrugged. The private school I was going to got closed down recently, and this summer I was looking for a school with a good band and maybe an engineering program. Best I found was here, but I tried out a school in Washington but It didn’t work out so I got put here. She answered and smiled easily, she was suddenly a little bit hyper now.
So last time I saw you we where both in Texas, now we’re in Chicago. So how’s life been for you, did you get adopted by someone nice? She asked tentavily not really knowing what’s happened to him since she’d disappeared that night her mom had died.

conner watched as confusion flickered across her face, mirroring his own, but then when he said the name he hoped was hers, he watched as her face lit up. Wow, I thought I had already messed up on names and it’s only my first day.
he laughed and shook his head, but yeah, it’s me. he grinned and let his surprise show clearly. It wasn’t very often that you ran into a childhood buddy, especially not with his luck. when he asked about her arm, he was a little concerned when he heard the first words of her explanation. Yeah, this time it’s not from falling off a mountain. My dad…uh, I had tripped the other day and well, I broke it again. Not as bad, I’m supposed to get this off soon. nodding, he pushed his hands into his back pockets and relaxed his stance, slipping back into the little boy he’d been six years ago. you haven’t changed much then. he joked. The private school I was going to got closed down recently, and this summer I was looking for a school with a good band and maybe an engineering program. Best I found was here, but I tried out a school in Washington but It didn’t work out so I got put here. he nodded, not quite being able to say that he understood that one, but, he could still empathise. I guess one would normally say they were sorry it didn’t work out, but, so far, I’m not too sorry. he shrugged slightly and then looked back over at her when he heard her voice again. So last time I saw you we where both in Texas, now we’re in Chicago. So how’s life been for you, did you get adopted by someone nice? he looked away for a moment, thinking about his foster parents. abby didn’t know where he was, at least, not very much, and he felt bad about that, she’d been a fantastic foster mom. erm, yeah, actually. a couple from new york came through a few months after you disappeared, visiting family, I left with them. . . he knew he should probably give abby a call, now that he thought about it, just let her know what was going on with him nowadays. looking back over at Jamie, he smiled, waving his hand at the stool beside him, snagging his script off of it and tossing it over to his bag. care to take a seat? he offered, he didn’t really know what she was doing in the auditorium, but, he figured he’d offer anyway. he knew it was obvious that he was trying to steer the conversation away from his life, for an actor, it was downright offensive towards himself, but, he just tried to steer it away nonetheless. Jamie almost thought he’d caught on that she wasn’t telling the full truth about her arm when a odd look crossed his face, but soon she smiled apparently he was fine with what she’d said. You haven’t changed much then. Jamie laughed, Yes I’m gifted I can trip over air, quite an accomplishment? She said and bowed playfully and quiet gracefully even with the cast.
She watched as he nodded, she wouldn’t be surprised if he was a bit lost on why she’d switched schools three times in the past year. Proclivity had closed down because of something, and then she just didn’t like the school in Washington. It just didn’t fit who she was, but now being here seemed quiet alright. I guess one would normally say they where sorry it didn’t work out, but so far, I’m not too sorry. Jamie nodded and proceeded to ask him how his life had been and what had happened since the orphanage.
erm, yeah, actually. A couple from New York came through a few months after you disappeared, visiting family, I left with them… Jamie looked at him as he spoke, it was evident that he probably didn’t like going over his life so she nodded. I would guess that’s a good thing. But yeah, sorry for randomly disappearing. I really didn’t have a…a choice, Dad just wanted to leave. She said and shrugged, not knowing if he’d heard about her Mom passing away in the car accident near her old house.
Care to take a seat? She heard him say as he moved a group of papers from the stool beside his, probably his script if he was part of the theatre group here. Yeah sure, as long as you help me find where I’m supposed to go. All my paper says is to come talk to theatre guy sometime afterschool. She said before shrugging and walked over to the stool. She slipped onto the seat and turned to where she could look at him. Random thought but wow, I could have sworn we where the same height once. Now you’re like a tower and I’m the short thing beside you. Jamie said and smiled happily.
Jamie let her blue gaze move around the theatre, So this is the theatre. I’m having a class here this semester. I hope it’s fun…, She said the last part to herself but she glanced over at her childhood friend.
She laughed slightly and hummed the first verse of ‘it’s a small world’ to herself before smiling. You know, maybe that songs true. Ya know? From where I am I just randomly pop at a new school and I suddenly know someone. It’s great! She said and smiled.

Yes I’m gifted I can trip over air, quite an accomplishment?
he laughed softly and shook his head while laughing. oh yes, quite an accomplishment. he pretended to present the water bottle as something of a trophy but chuckled and tossed it back at his bag. as the conversation went on, getting into what they'd been doing for the past few years, he nodded when she started speaking again. I would guess that’s a good thing. But yeah, sorry for randomly disappearing. I really didn’t have a…a choice, Dad just wanted to leave. he remembered something about a car accident back in the sleepy little town, it seemed like that had happened right before she moved. and there had been a death involved with it. . . right? then he remembered that it was her mom who had died. yeah, i'm sorry about your mom. . . he could relate to that one, kind of. i mean, his foster father was killed in a car accident. Yeah sure, as long as you help me find where I’m supposed to go. All my paper says is to come talk to theatre guy sometime afterschool. he smiled, so caleb needs to see you? well, i think he stepped out for the afternoon, something came up. . . when she sat down, he looked down at her, trying to spot anything that had changed over the years. Random thought but wow, I could have sworn we where the same height once. Now you’re like a tower and I’m the short thing beside you. he chuckled and then ran his hand through his hair. sure, he was about six feet, but still, he'd gone through a few growth spurts. now to just be a little mean, reaching out, he ruffled her blonde hair, just to kind of poke fun at her height. So this is the theatre. I’m having a class here this semester. I hope it’s fun…, he grinned and stepped out a little so that he truly was in the dead centre of the stage. ah yes, welcome to my humble home. you will love it, i'm sure. wait. . . are you an acting major? a performing arts high school, yeah, they had majors. it was awesome. when he heard her humming something, he tilted his head, trying to place the tune. You know, maybe that songs true. Ya know? From where I am I just randomly pop at a new school and I suddenly know someone. It’s great he chuckled, small world, that was what it was. and a small world indeed. yeah, it's a nice little school, the people are pretty nice, and the teachers are awesome. granted, some of the teachers were a little strict, but, teachers, what did you really expect. Well, I think he stepped out for the afternoon, something came up. . . She nodded and glanced down at the stool before looking back up and making the height comment. Jamie laughed with him before she felt his hand ruffle through her blonde hair. Swatting at his hand she smiled, With luck I might grow a bit more after I hit twenty but that'll require a lot of luck. Though what...will you be like six foot nine when you hit twenty? She said playfully before reaching over with her good arm and pushed him a bit.
When she mentioned that she had a class here her mind drifted to her choice of majors. She'd always been in the bands, theatre groups, and even the photography. Though when she moved here she'd decided to go with her bands. Jamie glanced up from the stool and looked up at him as he stood and moved to the center of the stage. Ah yes, welcome to my humble home. You will love it, I'm sure. Wait. . . are you an acting major? She shook her head lightly, letting her hair fall around her shoulders evenly. Standing up from her stool she bowed gracefully and smiled. Nope. I've only acted since elementary school, but when we moved I joined the school band and practically fell in love. So no, I'm a music major, been playing tuba since fifth grade and I've learned many instruments. But I wanted to still be in the class so I joined it here, actings so much fun. You can be someone else. She smiled and glanced around the stage again, it was so much bigger than her old high schools. Turning her gaze back to meet his gold gaze she tilted her head a bit. So since this is your 'humble home' I'm guessing your an acting major? She asked truthfully, it would be cool if he was. It was rare to find a guy who was interested in acting and usually they where the nicest guys around.
Yeah, it's a nice little school, the people are pretty nice,a nd the teachers are awesome. Jamie laughed and grinned. Well lets home the English teacher likes me. Most hate me cause I have horrible grammar, so they go all Grammar Nazi on me and totally kill my grade. She smiled idly ran her fingers through a tangled lock of hair. So, I'm guessing that your a senior right? That sucks, I'll only get to be in school with you this year, and I just found ya again! She said with a grin.

chuckling lightly when she batted his hand away, he smiled down at her, With luck I might grow a bit more after I hit twenty but that'll require a lot of luck. Though what...will you be like six foot nine when you hit twenty?
he shrugged noncommittally and walked off into the wings, dragging out another stool and setting it down across from her, but not taking a seat just yet. moving his hand up to toy with the necklace he had on, it's black beads soft against his fingers. when the conversation turned towards majors, he laughed when she stood and bowed gracefully. he loved acting, it was his one true talent. Nope. I've only acted since elementary school, but when we moved I joined the school band and practically fell in love. So no, I'm a music major, been playing tuba since fifth grade and I've learned many insternments. But I wanted to still be in the class so I joined it here, actings so much fun. You can be someone else. he smiled, nodding as she spoke. tuba? really? i saw you more as a clarinet. he said it jokingly, but, he could see her playing clarinet, slightly. maybe bass clarinet. but then again, he didn't really know much about the band and orchestra they had here. but when her eyes met his again, he relaxed into his calm. So since this is your 'humble home' I'm guessing your an acting major? he nodded, moving back over to the stool and taking a seat on it, bringing one of his feet up onto the rung and resting his arm on his knee. mmhm, acting major full through. he loved being on the stage, it made him feel comfortable and safe, open yet closed. ever since he'd done the silly little play at the orphanage. when he told her how the teachers were nice, he tilted his head when she laughed. Well lets home the English teacher likes me. Most hate me cause I have horrible grammer, so they go all Grammer nazi on me and totally kill my grade. he laughed and watched as she ran her hand through her tangled hair, grammar nazi, interesting phrase there. but, i do know how you mean. they beat proper writing techniques into me my first year here. he still remembered his teacher sitting him down with the acting coach and having them both show him how writing could be fun. So, I'm guessing that your a senior right? That sucks, I'll only get to be in school with you this year, and I just found ya again! he nodded and looked at her grinning face. but, it's also only the first semester. he pointed out, his brown hair falling over his eyes for a moment. shaking his head to get the hair out of his face, he laughed. [size=1 Tuba? really? I saw you more as a clarinet. Jamie sat her hands on her hips, even the broken arm somehow made the pose look right, even if it added a comical effect. Shaking her head she laughed, Let me guess, it's cause of me being smaller than most of the tuba players? She stuck out her tongue and smiled, she'd only been around him what..ten or twenty minutes so far? And already she was her old self. The one that could have fun and hang out. She wasn't the scared closed up new girl anymore. That was one of the really neat things about finding a friend at a new school, you could instantly find a way to be yourself.
Anyway, I've played clarinet. It's hard though, I think reeds hate me, or maybe it's just because I end up chipping or breaking the mini piece of wood. Jamie said before shrugging and went straight into asking about his major. Mmhm, acting major full though. She nodded and laughed. Back at Proclivity there wasn't many guys that really liked acting, it's neat that your a guy that loves it.
When the subject drifted to the teacher, Jamie smarted off a comment that one of her friends had said, about the grammar Nazi's. Grammar Nazi, interesting phrase there. But I do know how you mean. They beat proper writing techniques into me my first year here. Laughing Jamie cringed and sat back down on her stool, facing Conner. Brings a whole new meaning to teaching with a passion right? Yikes beating. Anyway, I learned that one from a friend from Proclivity High. 'Zona used to say it a lot, and so did Sky. She said and laughed, remembering the many random memories she'd had with her friends back at their old school.
But, it's also only the first semester. Jamie nodded, Yeah, that's the good thing, at least I can be me. I was so scared, I've always hated being the new girl and now I actually know someone...Thanks, Jamie said before smiling happily over at him.
