remember those walls I built? well, baby they're tumbling down ________________________________________________________ The ride home could be considered awkward compared to how the evening had begun. Before there was an endless number of things to talk about, but now they both sat in silence like they were trying to see who would break first. They weren't, of course, but that was what it felt like. Every time Noelle wanted to say something she held herself back, feeling awkward to be the first one to break the silence. She eventually ended up giving up, figuring that a peaceful ride home was always nice. One leg was crossed over the other and her right elbow rested on the door at the base of the window while the girl watched the city lights go by. It kind of lulled her a little; it eased the tension and allowed her to be okay with the silence rather than feeling like she was ready to blow from the discomfort. Now she could enjoy the ride.
Amidst her deep thoughts, Noelle felt the car come to a stop, which made her move her eyes away from the window and come back to reality. They were in front of her apartment building. Wow, that had really felt like a fast ride, and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. Actually, considering the silence, it couldn't have been a bad thing. If they had been actively engaged in conversation then she wouldn't have minded if he "missed her street" and they had to "go around the block" to get back to it. She had been on a couple dates and had done that. Other guys were more straightforward and would ask if she would want to stay out a little longer and get ice cream or something. Every guy was different. Aaron was definitely the most gentlemanly man she had ever gone out on a date with.
Noelle glanced up toward her apartment when Aaron said "Home sweet home," but failed see it since the roof of the car was in the way. It wasn't like she was looking for anything to begin with, so she didn't bother leaning forward to check out her window. Rather, the woman looked back to her date when he said he would walk her in. Letting a smile find its way onto her lips, she nodded, "Okay." The woman waited until he had gotten out of the car and come around to her side and opened the door to get out. To be perfectly honest, Noelle knew that she could get used to this. In fact, she was already beginning to feel spoiled by Aaron. The next time she went on a date with a guy who didn't open doors for her or pull out her chair for her it was going to feel weird. It was something that she had never expected from a man before, so she never really thought about it. Still though, it was nice.
After Noelle was out of the car and had her purse comfortably over her shoulder, she slid her arm through Aaron's and walked with him on the way up to her apartment. It was funny, she wasn't entirely sure what to make of tonight. They had been having a great time, then he was absent for a while, then as soon as he came back he asked if he could leave. There was something so mysterious about him, something that kept her guessing. It could have been part of the reason why she wasn't as upset as she might have been - it didn't feel like he was bringing her home just to get rid of her, there was something else. "I had a nice time tonight, Aaron," she said quietly, looking up at him, "Thank you." You know, a nice time up until the sitting there alone thing, but Noelle didn't want to make him feel guilty, especially since she was trying not to keep herself hung up on it. ________________________________________________________ `Status: Finished! `Tag: Aaron Seymour `Word Count: 671 `Lyrics By: Beyoncé - Halo `Notes: pic by me not the best post, it'll get better xD[/blockquote]

Pocketing his keys after locking up the Lincoln, Aaron held Noelle’s arm in his as they made their way up to her apartment. His hands were deep within his pockets, one fiddling with the car keys, sweating in anxiousness. What was there even to be anxious about? It wasn’t like he was trying to get laid and getting nervous about the “do or die” moment where he waited for her to invite him in. However, if she were to ask, he wouldn’t decline; he wasn’t going to force himself in either. Whether he was comfortable with leaving her tonight or not, it wasn’t his call. Of course, he could always use the excuse of a full bladder and on his journey for the toilet, check out her apartment to make sure it was in fact void of any anomalies. The only flaw being that he went to the bathroom back at the restaurant and didn’t drink anything since then. Overactive bladder then?
Upon reaching the apartment, Aaron looked up at the wooden door. He couldn’t stop himself from itching to know what lay on the other side of it, if there was anything at all. You’re just being paranoid. She’ll be fine. Somehow he didn’t believe himself. He remembered thinking the same thing every day he went to work when Kate was pregnant. It was still early on, everything would be fine, there was no need to worry until it was closer to the due date. He believed himself then, but what happened because of it made him greatly doubt himself thereafter. Maybe he should come up with a lame excuse to be invited inside. Unfortunately, he wasn’t that kind of guy; suddenly acting like it may deduct him some points he couldn’t afford to lose. He didn’t think he really had to many to begin with; all the more reason to keep the ones he had.
”I had a nice time tonight, Aaron.” The mention of his name caused his eyes to peel off the door and look down at Noelle. She was staring back at him with a light smile on her face. So innocent her face, he couldn’t even imagine with it would look like if she knew half of what he knew, felt half of what he felt. Would she be looking at him so trustfully? Would he be allowed to stand so close to her, so close her breath faintly brushed over his face? Probably not. Returning the smile he said, ”So did I.” Except for the whole stalker bit, of course. Her thank you only received an acknowledged nod with the fear that if he responded with the simple “You’re welcome” it required, he would begin apologizing again for cutting the evening short. There was no point in beating a dead horse. He was sorry a thousand times over and he could only hope she would accept that.
An small pause and then, ”Well, good nigh’.” He responded lightly with a small nod, backing up a few steps to give her room to turn around and open the door. Gradually making his way back to the elevator, Aaron had to fight himself from looking back. If he looked back and no longer saw her standing there, a panic would overcome him and he would go back to the door and bang on it until she answered. Instead, he stared down the elevator until he was in front of it and able to press the down arrow. Shifting back and forth, he waited as it came to get him.
Sitting in his car, Aaron had the vehicle running but wasn’t get pulling away from Jade Garden Apartments. His head was tilted up to see her windows, still dark. Gripping the steering wheel so tight his palms began to sweat, he held his breath until he saw a light flick on. Still he was unable to heave a breath of relief. He still wasn’t comfortable with the idea of leaving Noelle alone that night. If he was still being followed, no doubt whomever it was now knew where Noelle lived. Eyes glued to the window, Aaron tried to come up with a clever, and hopefully not too obvious, way of getting back into the apartment. The only thing he could think of doing was showing up with dessert. Not a bad idea. The only flaw to his plan was that he had to leave sight of the building to do so. Quickly, Aaron scanned around for some kids to pay to run down to the store and get a tub of ice cream; unfortunately, there were none.
He hated to do it, but a few minutes wouldn’t kill him…or her, he hoped. Not even bothering with the headlights, Aaron moved the car out of Park and veered onto the street. His foot felt like lead on the accelerator as he sped around the corner to the nearest QuikMart. Letting the Lincoln idle, Aaron leaped from the vehicle and headed into the store. It was late enough that the store wasn’t crowded. In fact, there were no people except for the cashier. Aaron exchanged a nod with the person behind the counter as he passed on his way to the freezer. Now he was faced with another dilemma: what ice cream did he choose. In his rush, he grabbed something simple: chocolate. Hopefully, if she was in the mood for something a little more creative, she kept a can of whipped cream or something on hand.
Aaron paid for the ice cream then headed back to his car and was once again on his way back to Noelle’s apartment. He wondered if her neighbors began to notice his recurring visits. Going through the same routine as he had twenty minutes ago, with the exception of Noelle being alongside him, Aaron returned to the third floor apartment. Standing outside the door, he listened in silence for a moment. When there were no out of place screams or crashes, he forced himself to calm down, or at least appear calm, as he knocked casually on the door. ”Room service!” He yelled to the other side.
