god put us here on this carnival ride, we close our eyes
never knowing where it will take us next

Reading people was something that Noelle had never been good at, which was what put that tiny thought in the back of her mind that this was all to pull her leg or he really was just trying to get somewhere with her. Aaron really didn't seem like that kind of guy though, even if her previous track record with trusting people gave her her doubts. She could only hope that her instincts proved to be right this time around because she couldn't face that kind of disappointment again. That disappointment was exactly the reason why Noelle had not dated anyone in a while. Sure, she wanted to. The woman liked the idea of someone being there when she woke up in the morning, but with where she was in her life it made more sense for Noelle to stay single for a while and avoid all of the drama that came with being in a relationship.
However, with Aaron she couldn't refuse. Whether that was a good or a bad thing the girl figured she would find out soon enough. He had such a charisma about him though that through her surprise she couldn't help but say yes. Plus, his adorable and charming smile had aided in her decision a bit, mainly because it made her not want to see what the look on his face would be if she had said 'no.' Besides, why shouldn't Noelle say yes? He was nice, and sweet, and had yet to give her any reason not to like him. The only thing she could think of was that he was a little older than her, about ten years actually. But, that wasn't a problem for her, for some people it might be but in Noelle's eyes age was nothing but a number. That didn't mean she was going to date ten years down (that would be illegal) but ten years up was really not that much of a difference these days. Look at Hugh Hefner and his house of bunnies.
"'Round seven say? I'll pick ye up at yer place." Noelle nodded again in agreement. "Yeah, that sounds good." Saturday at seven was still a few days away, which made the woman wonder what the next few days would bring for the two of them. They still had some dance lessons between now and then, would they be awkward now? She really hoped not, today had been fun for her, one of the best days she had in a while, and she didn't want to ruin that because they had decided to go out together on Saturday. It wouldn't be the first time it happened. In high school a close guy friend of hers ad asked her out, and she decided to give it a try. Not only did it not last long, it was so awkward talking to him the rest of the week leading up to that day because she had no idea what to say to him anymore. Something like that completely changes the dynamic of a relationship. Then again, they had only known each other a few days so Noelle didn't really know what their relationship was yet, so it might be easier not to screw anything up.
"Yeah, I should get going too." Noelle pulled her eyes away from him and looked down at her purse while she zipped it up, then threw it over her shoulder and lifted her gaze again. It didn't make much sense to put her purse on her shoulder when her coat was still in the closet, but it was something to distract from the fact that her heart was pounding in her ears. Yes, it had been a while since she had been with someone, and even longer that she had been asked out by someone she already sort of liked. It made her feel like that nervous teenage girl she had been in junior high school all over again. At the same time though, Noelle liked it. A gentle smile rested on her lips when he wished her a good evening, and she called after him, "You too, Mr. Seymour." Being called "Miss Ackerman" was something that the woman was still getting used to, but something inside her liked hearing him say it. Maybe it was just the way he had said it, she didn't know, but either way it was time to gather her things and head home.
